Worlds first 7th gen on NITROUS with pics !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well guys this is something ive wanted to for a while now a nitrous express nitrous kit with a few extra goodies (bottle warmer and purge kit), despite knowing about the cvt and might not being able to handle the power, ill guess ill be one of the first to see what this tranny can really do .

So far on a 50 shot , ran the car WOT about 30 times and so far so good, Car ran like a beast im really loving this setup so far..... i will be increasing the shot in the coming weeks.

Well here are the pics (sorry for crappy cell phone pics).......Enjoy guys and comments welcome

NICE MAN!

And although it sucks being the guinea pig, you are doing us all a huge favor by testing out the CVT... Personally I am wanting a turbo...

Yea i realized by being the first to test out this cvt, i could probably finally get some questions answered about how much this cvt can hold....I understand the consequences about blowing the tranny , but someoneone has to do it lol

I will keep you guys updated and posted to say how everything is holding up

Man that is a real nice install. Really like how you integrated the purge and arming switches into and underneath the dash! Can't wait to see some 1/4 mile timeslips in the future!

I don't think you will mess up the trans with just a 50 shot...I think 100 would tear it to bits and a 75 should be just right

I would be more concered with the motor...lol

Wow! What a nice setup. If you can make a video of 0-60 or 0-100, do not hesitate! Let us see.

I am also interested in knowing how much the setup cost you, if you don't mind sharing.

CVT on Nitrous! Let's race man!!!!! Just kidding. Not with my stockie setup.

I'm really surprised Stillen hasn't come out with a supercharger kit for the 7th gen yet. Where did you pick up the NX kit? From the pictures, looks like a dry kit. You got some serious nads to be trusting our rubber band tranny with that kind of power boost!

Isn't it more like a glass tranny ..
Why would you think it's a dry kit?

Stillen hasn't supported an FWD SC platform in damn near a decade.

Appeared to be a dry kit as the nozzle looks like it's tapped into the intake tube right before the throttle body. Never seen a nitrous setup on a foreign car (been a GM boy for over 10 years) and this setup looks like a TNT or NOS dry kit. Forgive me if I'm wrong, still getting familiar with owning something that isn't a Pontiac or Chevy haha.

Damn... wish someone would produce a SC kit for this car. Not a big fan of turbos (excess heat, plumbing, tuning, lag, etc.) which is why I'm going to looking into Vortech, Paxton and Novi to see if they've got a centrifugal SC setup!

Man I have got to say that you have some ***** for doing this and I admire that you are willing to. Can't wait to see what the outcome is. Hopefully all goes well and your successful by not blowing the tranny. Can't wait for the results

I am with you on the turbo. I think that would be freaking awsome; I know a guy who custom built one for his 4th gen. and he is willing to do mine but he would have to have my car for a while and take it apart and everything. If you want him to try it on your car i'll give you his information.

Yeah do it. We need some sort of forced induction setup. Then we will need volunteers to test the CVT with the added power... Unlike nitrous the gains would be all the time, not just a few times here and there. Do it!

Thanks for the offer but there is no way I can afford a custom turbo setup right now, not to mention a new CVT if sh*t hits the fan lol.

So do you think you could write up a little "idiot's guide" to Nitrous? Admittedly I know nothing about it besides what you see on video games and movies (ouch, I know ). How do the various sytems compare (NOS, ZEX, Nitrous Express, VENOM, etc.) and what made you go with nitrous express? Is something like this only good if you plan on going to the track and racing? Or can you use it for everyday driving?

If you could take the time to educate me, and i'm sure some others, it would be really appreciated.

Annino, well i start off with what i know about the kit , I went with nitrous express for two reason.....Nitrous express is a great nitrous company with a good reputation...another big reason is because they make a kit straighforward for a nissan...here a link to the kit
http://www.nitrousexpress.com/produc...ls.php?id=1459

About using it everyday or on the track, it all depends on you. The setup in my car is i have an ON/OFF switch to engage the nitrous system...meaning when its on , at WOT the nitrous will kick in automatically, When the switch is off , no nitrous is being used what so ever. So i dont have to use it everyday if i chose not to. Also if i used it everyday, it would be very expensive to keep filling up that bottle of nitrous lol....Its 50 bucks to fill up the tank...5 dollars for every pound and the tank i have is a 10lb tank.

The shop said the tank should last about 6 times WOT down a 1/4 track....so you figure 6x1/4...so itll last about 1.5 miles at WOT....and thats not including me purging the nitrous as well which wastes the nitrous as well, but its really cool just seeing the nitrous shoot up in the air from a maxima, Turns manyy heads

Nice thanks for the info. This is very interesting to me, with so few HP adding parts for our cars this could be a winner. Basically if i'm feeling sporty I could flick on a switch and have an "instant" 55hp gain at WOT - If not, just leave it off and drive as I normally would. The expense of a $50 refill every time could get rediculous after awhile - Then again if no other performance products come out, it may be worth it for the occasional adrenaline rush. Not to mention if used only occasionally, the CVT may not even flinch at the extra power...

D*amn you for making my gears turn...

That kit says:
"Includes jetting for 35, 70, 100 and 150HP"
Was the 50 shot jet additional or did they just not mention it?

yea it came with the kit...I think the key word is "additional"...meaning the other jet sizes also come with the kit...The 50 shot jet must be like the default jet size....

I also first wanted to try out the 35 shot first because i really had no idea how the tranny would handle the horsepower...but the shop said it wouldnt be worth it and i wouldnt feel such a huge difference.... so they leaned me towards the 50 shot first.
