Smile Hello from the owner of a new 2010 Ocean Grey Max

Hello Everyone

I have not been on here for a long time but I am back after picking up my Ocean Grey SV with premium and technology package and spoiler. I am loving it so far. Will update as I can but will remain primarily stock.

Thanks for listening
Hammad

Same car here! So hello buddy! Welcome to the board!
Congrats on the new beauty you're definitely going to love her! I'm keeping mine fairly stock as well (it's a lease) I'm gonna do a few small things here and there but nothing I can't take out or turn the car in with in 3 yrs.
Hope you have a nice garage out there in Queens for her!!

Oh man, you'd be my idol if you turned that max in with a full cat back, on lowering springs with a stillen kit. Just be like, it came like that guys, remember!?

Thanks for the welcome guys. I will get pics up asap. Unfortunately, no garage but I do have the driveway. The dealer got me a little worried about getting the wheel locks because he said these rims get stolen all the time so I gotta pick up a set. I leased as well so all removable mods for me too. So far I am thinking rear window spoiler. Would you guys get the body color or black with the dual moonroof top? Also the window rain guards. Deciding about replacing the front grill and getting a lower grill insert as well. Small stuff really. Almost bought it but its primarily going to be driven by the wife so lease was cheaper and better. I am glad I held out for the color because originally they offered the Crimson Black but we didn't really like it (I know some of you are thinking "what are you crazy" but it wasn't our cup of tea).

My 2010 white SV premium with tech and all the added goodies should be in my driveway tomorro as they are just registering it now. I am leasing same like you and have leased for the past 16 years. I am in Queens NY as well and have only a driveway and havent had any problems with theft as of yet. besides the point i have camera facing my driveway that would help under those situations. I have a 08 accord-(wifey's) and 08 dodge avenger r/t that is going back to dodge as soon as they bring my 2010 maxima to me. My lease is up on my avenger and am staying away from chrysler/dodge/jeep for a very long time as ive had many problems with them. The only thing i am doing to my maxima is - Tinting the windows and tailights, same as you i would like to put a roof/rear window spoiler in black to match the double glass sunroof, and a k&n filter only since i wont be getting a intake becouse its a lease and will be giving it back when the new style maxima comes in a few years....

Also wheel locks are a must (makes me feel better at least in some way HEHE) and lucky the dealer had them on mine free of charge as i was told~

yeah get that dealer to give you those locks for free! I've never heard of them really charging people. I know my last 2 cars came with them...(including my Max)

Do you have to remove the window tints when returning the lease. I want to tint sooo bad but don't want to remove, especially the rear windshield when returning. Where are you getting your work done? If it's decent maybe I can get it done at the same place. Will the tail light tint be removable, ie. film vs. spray?

You know what you guys are right, let me call the sales guy and see if I can get my wheel locks sent to me.

I am going to help you out buddy! I have the address for the place i get my tints done on all my cars, and also its a garage hand wash place as well. The guy there did my tail lights on my avenger and cut around the reverse lights perfectly! Tail lights are around $80 on my avenger. I will get a quote when i pick my maxima up either today or tomorro and let you know maybe he can do both as well as my tints and yours for a good price. He is in Flushing - Highline Detailing/Tint 171-08 39th avenue. PM me and we can set something up and go down there. I know its mainly appt. for tints. I get my car hand washed/full service there (no brushes).. for about $20 since i dont have access to a hose where i live. They do my car perfect everytime for the past 2 years. Also about the tint being a lease,,... I dont think you need to worry about it becouse ive had tint done by the dealer and never had a problem returning it, also i had flowmaster exaust, intakes and no problem, tail light tint on my avenger is going back to dealer since my lease is up on monday. They will auction or resell the car regardless and if there is no damage it should be no problem. I do know that some dealers are more strict when it comes down to handing it in but i think you need not to worry. It is very removeable tint. It can be taken off the tail lights and the windows for a price and the right person, liquids/ect.

Just wanted to supplement the answer that was given to this as well. Dealers have told me as long as the car looks factory (i.e. no body kits, non-factory rims) and that there are no mechanical changes (i.e. supercharger, cams, etc...) and nothing voids the factory warranty (even though the warranty is typically over, something that would void a warranty would be unacceptable to turn in) there are no issues with customizing your car.

I turned in my Accord when I got the Max and I had 15% tints, HID-headlights (non-factory) LED's throughout. They didn't even question anything and I got a clean bill of health from the inspector.

So you can put on exhaust (bolt on stuff only) intake, tints, spoiler (nothing crazy I'm sure), etc.. simple non-permanent things. Out of all that you may be asked to put the factory exhaust back on.

Thanks for the info. I figured it would be okay. Anyway, I have 38 months before I have to worry about it.

Congrats on the new ride. Nice color choice. I also have a 2010 Ocean Gray with Sports Pkg. Tech Pkg and Monitor Pkg. Anyone know how to cleanly fix a paint chip? I got behind a truck and spit a rock out of the tires and you know the rest....
So sad...my 1st flaw and only 1500 miles.

thats a nice ride man congrats! I am actually looking at the same car, color package. The only other car I am looking at is the g 37. Did any of you guys look at that as well and, if so, why did you choose the maxima? I feel that the g37 interior may be too small. thanks

Actually I did drive the G37 as well as the M35. The G37 interior seemed very cramped....kinda like a 3 series BMW. The M35 had a nice spacious interior just like the Maxima, but was slow and got poor MPGs. The Maxima, to me, was just perfect! Sporty, fast, good MPG's, and spacious enough w/o rubbing elbows with the passenger.

Thanks guys and I agree with OceanGray, the G is just too cramped. I love the car but not as a direct comparison to the max.

yeah I was shopping the G37 as well. My cousin owns one so I rode in his a few times and then axed the G from my short list. Too cramped for me, I don't even need a sedan or anything but I felt too claustrophobic in there.

yeah I agree. The first time I sat in the g it felt cramped. I am really leaning towards to maxima sv with nav and prem..its good great balance....anyone have it in silver? I am between silver and the ocean grey. thanks

I ended up going with the Sport and Sport Tech Pkg. for appearance purposes only. I now wish I would've went with the Premium and Premium Tech pkg. instead. The main reason being, those 19" magnify every bump on these horrible trails we in NC call roads. Advise to others considering either Premium or Sport Pkg.,take a good look at your streets, pot holes, ruts.... I have read and heard that those 19" are real easy to warp as well.

There's a silver one two houses away from me. I think mine stands out more but clearly I'm biased and he doesn't have the dual moonroof.

Love your car!! I too am looking at a 2011 Maxima SV premium. I was also thinking ocean grey or white. My altima lease is not up until April and I already tried to trade it in early for the Maxima but they want $580 for a lease. If you don't mind me asking can I ask what your paying for your Maxima lease. I think MSRP was $39,090 I wanted my Payment under $500, but maybe I should of negotiated the MSRP first then the payments

Bought mine 5 weeks ago (SV premium). My MSRP was 38300. negotiated it down to 33000. put 3000 down. so lease payment came to 391 with the extra alarm system installed.

Sorry for the late reply. I was out of town. I am paying $389/month with nothing down. Only the Tax, title and fees were charged up front. This is a 2010 premium + tech + spoiler. Hope it helps. MSRP on the invoice is similar to yours.
