Curb Rash

So my car was absolutely filthy and I didn't have any spare time to give her a wash. Couldn't stand it anymore so I decided to go through the touchless carwash. As I was exiting and being extremely cautious I rubbed the rail with both drivers side tires. Have some curb rash on both wheels. Totally my fault and I feel so stupid. Just turned 2k miles today. I will post some pics tomorrow. I'm hoping I can have this repaired for a reasonable amount.

OUCH!! Hopefully damage isn't too severe to save ya a bit of green. I remember when I got my brand-new RSX Type-S a few years back and being behind a dump-truck on the highway on my way home. Of course a piece of debris flew out the back and chipped my bumper very slightly, was the worst gut-wrenching feeling in the world lol but thankfully some touch-up paint did the trick. Best of luck to you man.

Hey man, don't worry too much becouse this has happend to me in alot of my cars with rim's. wether it be 17" 18" 19" ect., it can be fixed for less then what you would pay for a new rim. I broke/cracked a few alloy rims and got them fixed for like $60 or so, and you couldn't tell at all it was ever broke or scuffed. Shop around and you will find some places...

I also just got some curb rash on my rear passenger side wheel. I want to repair it myself. Does anybody know the wheel paint code for the 18" 2009 Maxima SV rims?

there are good rim repair places around. You can look the yellow pages, or call a few good body shops and ask them. They will have a place they take rims to. I had one of mine done, and perfect. looks brand new. Not sure what the price was as it was part of our wreck.

One inch - 1 1/2" scars on two rims -- $225. Painted aluminum alloys.

A bit expensive!!! Dealership has a guy that stops by on a route around to different dealers.

Dealer gets a cut I'm sure.

Just two, front and rear passenger. I had no point of reference for cost, but it felt expensive.

did you check with a local body shop?

That isn't too bad for two rims. Considering the 19''ers are bout 800 bucks a piece!

just curious...but was it one of those car washes where your driver side tires go into the "rail pulley system" that drives your car through the wash?

In my case, no. It was true curb rash.
