gas pedal has a sticking point

I did a search, but didn't see this scenario:

The gas pedal has a sticking point about 3/4 to WOT (wide open throttle).

(a) If you mash the pedal to the floor, the pedal goes but you can feel the pedal passing the sticking point.
(b) If you slowly push the pedal down, it sticks about 3/4 the way down. If you then apply more than normal pressure, the pedal unsticks/passes the sticking point and will go to WOT.

I've noticed this getting worse as time goes on. Anyone else have/had this? My car has 20k miles.

The car will be going in shortly for something else and they'll look at it then.

RESULT
Nissan gave me the "it's normal" answer I then went to the dealership to drive a new one. I guess I wasn't that observant before as I just drove a '10 SV sport and the same 80% of WOT "sticking" point was there too. NO ISSUE (yeay)

I have not noticed this. This is just me thinking critically but is it possible that the right side of your right shoe is rubbing against the plastic that makes up the base of the center console which runs just to the right of the gas pedal? My shoe has rubbed against it a few times while I was trying to accelerate.

i believe that has been discussed before on here. I can't find it right now, but I thought it had something to do with a restrictor type thing. I have felt that click type of thing as well. I thought it was discussed on here as some type of safety thing. maybe someone will be able to find it, I can't

I should have known it wouldn't be that simple. Let us know what the dealer finds.

The Maxima has this and so did my Altima. The gas pedal will go most of the way down then and extra bit if pressed further for full power. You will feel a "click" when you press it that extra bit

I think I'll go "test drive" a new Max today and if there is no sticking, I'm going to bring down the service dept bldg.

That's it. I'm going to take a drive and try harder to see if I feel this "sticking" point.

Dam k757, I would check mine but i only have about 650 miles as of now. I want to punch it bad to see how this badboy really takes off but im waiting for my break in period to be gone. I will update a few weeks from now im guessing.

The adjective "sticking" does not fully describe the pedal action. The pedal does not physically get stuck in place as in a Toyota. It's more like a dual action switch with tactile feedback generated by a spring. The first 80% of the travel engages a soft spring. The final 20% engages a much stiffer spring. You can feel the and hear (engine) the difference.

After my experimenting today, I realized that I have never engaged WOT until today. Am I a wuss or just gentle on my Max?

you dont need to have it running to feel this. Try it while the engine is off and you can sense the difference. When you actually break the car in, the difference while driving is very noticeable in power and engine sound. I think it is Nissan's way of keeping people from really hitting full power unless they mean to do so. Probably not good to do it too often but I have always had a lead foot.
Probably why I got tagged in Alabama for doing 88 in a 65....

Ummm. In Atlanta, by the time all the charges (including the 'superspeeder' fine) have been tacked on, you would be looking at between $900 and $1,000 for 88 in a 55 (the interstate speed limit is 55 inside the Atlanta beltway).

It kinda is like my micro switch for my N2O on my supra.Maybe those who are running the funny gas can tap into it somewhere or the TPS somehow?

It's supposed to be there. The second stage engages a transmission profile for maximum acceleration. Engine response in the first stage varies with the aggressiveness of your driving.
