Nissan introduces pricing on 2011 Nissan Maxima

Nissan North America has introduced the pricing for the 2011 maxima.
From the Nissan web site:

Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today announced U.S. pricing for the 2011 Nissan Maxima and 2011 Nissan Sentra sedans. Both vehicles are on sale now at Nissan dealers nationwide.

The 2011 Maxima is offered in two well-equipped models – Maxima 3.5 S and Maxima 3.5 SV, each featuring a standard 290-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve VQ-series V6 engine and Xtronic CVT™ transmission. Revisions for 2011 include new rolled edge tailpipe finisher; new smoked headlights (Sport models); new dark chrome grille (Sport models) and unique shiny gray interior stitching (Sport models). Also offered are two new exterior colors, Metallic Slate and Brilliant Silver.

Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices* (MSRP) for the 2011 Nissan Maxima include:

Maxima 3.5 S CVT $30,810 USD
Maxima 3.5 SV CVT $33,530 USD

Except for the hardly noticable rolled edge tailpipe finisher, all 2011 Maximas except the Sport look just like the 2010. The Sport now looks sporty with its smoked headlamps and dark chrome grille. It can be seen now at most large Nissan dealers, and very soon at smaller Nissan dealers.

I would not be surprised to see a few posters here buy a replacement 2011 Sport dark chrome grille and stick it in their '09 or '10 Sport or '09 or '10 or '11 non-Sport Maxima.

Nissan usually goes with 8 exterior colors on the Maxima, so with the addition of Brilliant Silver and Metallic Slate, I expect to soon hear that two of the 2010 colors will no longer be available.

Nissan did a good job of holding the line on prices.

They said they were starting to sell the 2011 in August but if you look on Nissans web site and "build your Maxima" they won't let you build a 2011. They only offer the 2010 color options. I've searched for pictures of the new grille and headlights but have so far come up short. On the Nissan site when they show pictures of the car, the do no show the sport for the 2011. I am also interested to see what colors will officially be deleted to mak room for the new options. If anyone can find a picture or some official information before I do, please post it.

Nissan Infiniti usually make the model year change over in September when it's just a carry over, when it's an all new model they pop up whenever

Yes. Although the 2011s are now arriving at dealers, the vast majority of the 7th gens currently on the lots are 2010s, and Nissan wants searchers to be able to find those 2010s.

Carrying this further, Nissan does not like to build a car to order for an individual buyer the first few months of a new model year, because dealers have been busy clearing out the previous model year, and are anxious to bring in a supply of the new model year.

On the auto trader I noticed that no one has (or atleast I missed it) a radiant silver or a dark slate for sale. Might these be the two colors that were deleted??

I think they did delete radiant silver because they have a new color called brilliant silver or something.

Im gonna start askin around I wanna see what the leasing prices are gonna be on the 2011's. WHen I got my car the salesman said that the prices for a 2011 would be like $100 more a month than a 2010, with the same down payment.

Radiant Silver and the new Brilliant Silver are almost exactly the same, so I suspect Radiant Silver will be one of the two colors dropped.

I have been trying to guess the second color to be dropped, and have narrowed it to either Dark Slate or Mystic Jade, with Dark Slate being most likely, as it best matches the new Metallic Slate.

I know we are talking about the 2011 Max which by the way really isn't any spectacular in terms of changes, but the ugliest thing I have ever seen is the 2011 Nissan Quest. Looks like they tried to copy the Sienna up front and the Ford Flex in the back. I almost threw up looking at it. Sorry for that but I just happened to go to the site looking to see if the 2011 Max was up and saw it.

Good Question. In the Nissan press kit "2011 charting the changes" they said they would have three new colors. Pearl white being one of them. But that last press kit said only two new colors. I could have sworn I had seen a pearl white color description in the auto trader though... I don't know what's going on
