Infant car seat installation help

Hello everyone,
Does anyone here have tips on installing an infant car seat in the rear bucket seat of a 2009-2010 Maxima? This is our first child, so I am new at this! I tried to secure the base using the car's LATCH system. I have it pretty snug, but can't seem to get the proper angle for the infant seat once it is installed in the base. I have the base set to the maximum angle too. The instructions said to place a rolled up towel underneath the base, but that seems like that would be too high. I also placed a pad over the seat to protect the leather, but it might be part of the problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Daniel

I had this same problem. We have a Graco snugride 32 with base. I went ahead and had to place the base in the middle of the seats and use the 2 LATCHes in the middle. I did place a pad under the seat and could still get the correct angle. Hope that helps. I did not have to put a towel underneath it. Also, they say the center of the back is the safest location to put a infant car seat.

I know exactly what you are talking about. The rear seats are so steep that it makes the baby seat almost vertical when facing backwards. I used the suggestion of rolling up a towel and putting it under the car seat and it worked fine. I never felt it raised the seat up to much because all your during is leveling it out.

I thought about doing that too, but for whatever reason, the Maxima owner's manual states not to use the center of the rear seats with the LATCH system. Was it pretty snug?
