I been lookin at both and the SV is too sporty with the trunk spoiler and the rocker-rear bumper stick ons.

I guess I just prefer the luxury side of the max more than the sporty side.

anyone else ?

Hm? Are you referring to the rear mudflaps? Those are only held on with double sided tape. You can also get the SV without the spoiler. Both Maximas i purchased had to have them added on once they arrived at the dealership.

I have a SV with technology package. No spoiler. What are rocker-rear bumper stick ons? I don't have those either.

Yea, The spoiler only comes standard with the Sport package. You can just get a base SV that doesnt have mudflaps or spoiler, or a premium.

Yeah from my understanding the mudflaps are part of the premium package. So realistically as far as exterior styling goes is comes down to whether he prefers the pana roof or not...

The mudflaps are an installed option availabe on any Maxima. My sport came with them, from the factory. Some Max's have em, some don't I prefer having them, they add a little bit to the looks. You are right about the second part, the sport will be out of the question for him since he's looking for luxury, and the suspension won't be good for him if he wants luxury. It comes down to the premium or base sv. I would prefer the pano roof honestly because that it's very luxurious. Also, the premium has that amazing wood trim. My next door neighbor has the SV premium+tech, that is the perfect car if your looking for a luxury car.

I think you may not have brushed up on the 7th gen Maxima. Here is a condensed primer:

There are 4 levels of the 7th generation Maxima.

There is the base S.

There is an upgraded version of the S called the SV.

There is the SV + Sport Package, which makes the car more sporty.

There is the SV + Premium Package which makes the car more luxurious.

The S and SV look the same.

The SV + Sport looks different because of the 19" wheels and tires, darkened grille and a spoiler.

The SV + Premium looks different because of the double-panel roof.

No Maxima comes with rocker rear bumper stickons.

The spoiler and splash guards can be added to any Maxima.

The ride of the S, SV and SV + Premium should all be the same. The SV + Sport will be firmer.

MSRP prices range from around $30K for the S to around $40K for the SV + Premium with Technology Package (includes Navigation system). A good negotiator should be able to get over $5K off MSRP of any Maxima. Depending on time, place, Nissan incentives, etc, some are able to do even better than that.

If you are seriously interested in the Maxima, you ABSOLUTELY MUST either get and study the Maxima brochure from your dealer, or study the Maxima setup options on www.nissanusa.com.

And thus ends the condensed primer.
