Are they still delivering 2010 Maximas to dealerships?
At this point all Maximas arriving at dealers are 2011, but considering the monthly sales numbers the 2010 are probably flying off the lots
wait a month and you will get an 11 for the same as a 10

This has never been the case with any make or model from any manufacturer. If this were true, the dealer would have an empty lot between the time he notified Nissan he had sold the last 2010 and the time Nissan could get a 2011 moved from Smyrna TN to the dealer's lot. Much worse, the dealer would have had almost no selection from which the buyer could choose once there were few 2010s left.
There are dozens of Nissan dealers in the Atlanta Metro area, and some have between 50 and 75 Maximas on hand at any given time. A month ago, there would probably have been around a 50-50 split between 2010s and 2011s at those big dealers. By now, the ratio has probably changed to around 70% to 90% 2011s and 10% to 30% 2010s.
Smaller dealers will all be different, depending on the whims of the person doing the ordering for each dealer.
As info for those who may not know, once Nissan ended production of 2010 Maximas in late July, no more 2010s were built. The VIN Serial dropped back to 800000, and the VIN year indicator changed to show all subsequent Maximas as 2011s.
hopefully they will have a zero apr for 60 months...or a special apr on their CPO 2009+ maxima's.
with lexus and toyota running a massive 0.9 and 2.9 apr on their cpo offer, I don't know how nissan can stay affloat.

Nissan is staying afloat without the Toyota incentives because, UNLIKE TOYOTAS, Nissans tend to go when the driver wants to go, and stop when the driver wants to stop.
sorry to say but depreciation numbers are facts.
a 2010 maxima S with 24k miles has already depreciated 7k, the 2009's with 45k miles run for 19K all day long with no takers....where as a 2010 lexus ES has deprciated 2k. look it up, it's all there in the classifieds.

someone is having a bad day
Among '09 Maximas for sale by dealers, the asking price for an 'SV' was usually in the $26,500 range, while the 'S' was usually around $25,990. No, the dealer won't get that much for them, but he will certainly get well over the $19K you quoted.
I was surprised the dealers wanted that much, because a 2009 Maxima 'S' could be purchased new for around $23,900 at most Atlanta dealers, even less than that as dealers cleared their inventory for the 2010. At $19K, that is nowhere near a $7K depreciation. More like $4 to $5K for a TWO year old car with 45K miles. That is not bad.
Lexus brings a trade-in price closer to MSRP because Lexus is a luxury brand, and at the dealers closest to me, sell new at a price closer to MSRP than nearby Nissan dealers. Consumer Reports tested the ES, said is was built on a Camry chassi, and said the handling was 'lackluster.' My sister-in-law drives a Lexus, and she got considerably less off MSRP than I did with my Maxima.
The two Nissan dealers I patronize seem to have ample 'takers'. Nissan has what . . . 18 different models with two more on the way? And some, like the Altima, are selling very well.
I got $15K for my '04 SL (granted, in immaculate condition) at trade-in January 2009. That was over half what I paid for it over five years earlier. I have no problem with that kind of depreciation.
