not sure bout the airbag light, but the brake light may be coming on due to low brake fluid. i would definitely take it to the dealer and have them look at it...the airbag issue should definitely be under warranty.

My pass. side airbag light kept coming on. Was at the dealer last week. They are replacing the weight sensors in the front seat. The whole bottom seat cushion has to be replaced and is currently on back order. should be in in a few weeks.

good to know they did that. Our max has this problem it is intermittent and the airbag off light will come on when my wife is sitting in the car, only sometimes. I will go to the dealer to have them check it out. i need to go get my navi updated as well.

The company that makes the maps for the navi updates those maps about once a year, so after a few years, I go online and purchase the latest version of maps (for around $100) from the company that makes them (navteq.com), and they email me an order number that I take to my dealer, who uses it to load (at no further charge) the latest maps into my navi.

Probably the master brake cylinder.

I think I'm having the same issue also. I noticed last week that the passenger airbag light was off when it wasn't occupied. I went to the dealer and they said everyone is having that issue but there's nothing wrong with it. Something tells me they're lying because I can't think of any reason why the sensor thinks someone is in the seat. Did anyone else with the same problem be able to get that fixed?

Airbag Problem

My family has (2) 09 Maximas. Both have airbag issues. One has been in several times for this issue. Replaced passenger seat with airbag sensors and also had some other part replaced. Neither has seemed to solve this problem. The airbag OFF light still comes on when my wife is in the passenger seat, even more after replacement. The other Maxima we have just showed the same signs and the Passenger airbag OFF light is on and the driver airbag light is flashing. This indicates that all airbags to the vehicle are off. I am taking this one in tomorrow. Seems like Nissan has a serious saftey issue on their hands and I bet they are trying to keep it on the hush hush....

What you should Know:
Most warranties are 40k mi.
The dealership will try getting out of this one if you've passed the miles. Contact the owner of the dealership if you can, to address this problem. The service department will keep giving you the run around. This problem has nothing to do with miles driven.
If your PASSENGER airbag light comes on when someone is sitting in the passenger seat, make sure you take it in ASAP for a paper trail to this problem. When your airbag light flashes and finally malfunctions, you'll have proof of this problem even if you're over you warranty miles.
