rattle in center console

Hi,

Starting about a couple weeks ago, I have this rattle coming from somewhere in the center console. It's driving me nuts! I had the tsb for the cvt tranny done about a month ago, and am not sure if that has made for a stronger vibration or what.

It feels like there is a vibration at certain speeds or from the tires on certain roads... can't tell for sure and I can't locate where the rattle is specifically coming from.

Anyone come across this? Any ideas?

Thanks.

Rattle

I keep CD's in my console and they rattle like hell when driving, stopping, etc. Do you have anything loose in the console upper or lower. I'm going to put some tpye of spongy material around the CD's to quiet this.

Got the same issue man. Just noticed it when the air temps got into the low 40's. Taking it into the dealer over the next few weeks to get that looked over, along with some clicking noise in the IP. Will let you know what they find!

that's why i'm glad mine has the hard drive so i can just record the cd's to the hard drive and not worry about lugging around cds in the car.....

why don't you at least buy a cd holder that will fit in your center console....

I dont have the rattle in the console but i have a vibration or resonating sound coming from top of dash by winshield at high RPM with the R2C intake. Drives me nuts.I hate rattles.

I've found that my cupholder and the retractable lid rattle and squeak like mad with a coffee cup in there. Opening and closing the stupid thing causes all kinds of fun noises. I haven't mentioned it to the dealer yet because I know it'll be a headache.

The NissaN FSM actually have diagnotic procedures and a "Squeak and Rattle" kit listed to diagnose errant rattles and noises.

Try playing around with the black wire cover that covers the wires which run from the headliner to the rearview mirror.

I just posted something possibly related to this rattle in the "Help! I'm new here and have a question". I got lucky in finding the noise.

GM_Traitor...I have the same issue with my 09 Maxima. It just started when the weather turned cold and it sounds like it is coming from the CD player area. I was wondering if you had heard anything from your dealer regarding the rattle that you are experiencing?

You know, I was going to take it into the dealer, but the sound went away. Maybe it was just the constant up and down spikes in the temperature around here, who knows. Now that it's been consistently cold, everything is fine!

Thanks for the prompt response. I guess I will wait it out and see if it goes away like yours did. Hopefully it does, it is a very annoying sound!

I've found that my cupholder lid squeeks and rattles like CRAZY when I have a cup or mug in there. Even closing and opening it causes it to squeek like mad.

Well, it appears that the vibration coming from the CD player area has not gone away. It looks like a trip to the dealer is in order.

I had the same squeeking with the cup holder when I had a drink cup in it. Solved it like I did with my Altima by using some sticky backed felt to line the cup holder. I found some that the color matched very good and with the felt in place there is no more plastic to plastic noise.

Mine started when it turned cold outside. I think it is the metal cover around the radio area on the console. Has anyone figured out a fix yet?
