Thanks for the responses.

Question: Plasti Dip the entire grill except Nissan logo OR Plasti Dip only the center bars and keep the the frame and logo chrome? This will be done on a Precision Grey 7th Gen.

Blacked out looks good on white, not sure about grey.

All that's missing is the custom headlights and the Stillen lip. Then I'm done with the front. (I hope)

not to give an obvious answer but your best bet would be to go on their website and see what temperatures it witholds

5 or 6 coats. I can't remember. I blame the F***king salt on the road. I knew I should of washed it. It turned brownish the other day then went black again. I noticed it today as I was approaching my car... I'm so mad . If I use real paint, I'll be too afraid..

yea i understand i live in California so i don't deal with snow unless i go to Tahoe (which is about 2 times every other week if snow)

but paint would last if you go to a good body shop my only problem with getting it painted is rock chips once its chipped its chipped you have to leave it or get it redone

so it can go either way really

Nice video. I wish plasti-dip came with black gloss tho. The Matte finish was nice but it didn't match the shiny pillars.

I've been wanting to Plasti-Dip my car so i did some research. There's these guys that have a website just about Plasti-Dipping. They sell different colors and finish of Plasti-Dip and have videos on their website that shows you their products.

http://s384403007.e-shop.info/shop/c...zL&shop_param=

if that link doesnt work try

Dipyourcar.com

hope this was helpful.

I saw this a while ago i was going to do my pilalrs but had second thoughts because that means id have to black out all my chrome.

once my grill gets beat up i am getting it painted gloss black to match my shiny pillars... But the the guy in the video sells Plasti-dip and he has a gloss coating you spray on top of the matte black plasti dip http://www.dipyourcar.com/shop/categ...aram=cid%3D%26

Thanks for the link man. I found it funny that in order to make sale more sales, they made the paint and gloss separate. They should have black gloss, all in one instead. It's kind of annoying that you have to spray 4-6 coats with the matte finish then spray 4-6 again with the gloss. I would rather save and spend my cash on a c-mod grill but that's just me. Unfortunately, I had to remove the plasti-dip on my grill today and now the stupid chrome is back . I hate my life........

Why not spray paint the chrome black with a few coats and then plasti-dip? Theoretically that should help with chips of scratches shouldnt it?

i feel ya its annoying and what makes it even worse is how shipping cost more than the product... i bought white plasti dip for $11 with shipping..

it should work but it more time and effort most people who plasti dip are not looking for it to last forever or just are looking for something temporary until they can get it painted if i had the choice id rather paint it but i do like how durable it is

Would anyone be willing to ship some of this up to Canada to me? I need 3 cans of plasti dip glossifier and 3 cans of the new smoke, or silver metalizer. All of the companies I talked to just won't ship it up here. Locally, we only have the white, black, red, and clear. Send me a pm

Thank you

So, I can put this glossifier on my wheels even though I have my wheels plasti-dipped already?

What type of plasti dip is recommended for the emblems and grill? And what is the process? Just spray 3 light coats? And finish coat required?
Thx!

It's in a blue can with a black cap. 3 coats works fine.

Clean the emblems and grill with alcohol. Spray each coat of plastidip and let dry atleast 20-30 minutes between coats.

If you don't like it, peel it off.

Can I use this for the chrome around the windows? Or will it not stick, I don't want it to "bleed" on to the paint.

It'll work for sure. IDK how well it'll hold up after washing the car, especially if you don't hand wash the car yourself. Just use blue painters tape around the areas you don't want to spray.

Thanks maximaguido for the tip.. I was thinking the same thing about when I wash it. Do you think getting it vynil wrapped would be better? I just don't want it to look good for a month and then it looks like garbage.. You know. There are a few places in queens I know that do the vynil but not to sure how it holds up... Thanks for the info. And the painters tape info...

If I were you just do vinyl. A member (Ghozt) has vinyl on his window trim and it looks awesome. It compliments his 370Z wheels. Besides, plasti-dip is too dull and to me it won't look attractive as the shiny vinyl. My best friend has vinyl roof (Black) and so far he had it for 2 years already on his TL.

Thanks guys, I think that's what I'm going to do. I think the vynil will be a better choice for the window trim. Thanks for the advice.
