Farewell (Soon To Be Vehicle Part Out!!!)
Farewell (Soon To Be Vehicle Part Out!!!)
Hello everyone; its been a while since I have posted anything on her and reason why I am now is because I wanted to let everyone know that I will be trading in the Maxima for a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ Crew Cab. After numerus issues with my Maxima (Replaced windshield, bent wheels, suspension squeeking, window motors and lock accuators being replaced) I figured it was time for me to move on instead of putting more and more money into a car with 32K on it (Need a new brake job and new wheels). A car just does not suit the East Coast weather and since I have put a lot of work into my Max my loss becomes your gain. Monday I will be removing the following parts; (Borla Exhaust, Racingline Y-Pipe & Front Strut Tower Bar, Stillen Rear Sway Bar & Grounding Kit & Cat-Back Exhaust System) I have not decided on how much I am selling those parts for yet but check back Tuesday or Wednesday in the 7th Gen. Classified section for that information. You all have been great and I will continue my support on this forum in my spare time.
Regards,
Kamber

Wow, that is a shocker to hear that you are getting rid of your car, I never expected this. I'm sorry to hear that you've had so many problems with your car, I have been more than blessed and has had to do no more than change the brakes. Thank God for that. Well Bro, it was fun having you here, you were a real contributor and we're gonna miss having you around.
The Chevy Silverado is a nice truck though.

Hate to see ya go Kam, I remember reading all your posts and all the good info you supplied, even before I ever got my Maxima. I remember that you made the Borla CBE possible for our cars. Enjoy the Silverado! Stick around the forums if you dont mind!!
You'll be missed man, I've only been a member for a short time but you've been a great help in answering questions and providing information to the forum. If you join the forums for your new ride I'm sure they'll love to have you.
Are those the only problems that you had, or were there others not listed? Annoying to be sure, but it doesn't seem like a a big list of problems if you like the car.
I've been looking at a GMC Acadia for my wife, and some owners of the GM's "Lambda" platform have had serious problems:
But the Acadia fans tend to love their cars and many buy them again. My point is any car can and will likely have a few problems especially in the first year of production, the Maxima. By comparison to the GM Lambda models, the issues with the 7th Gen Maximas have been very minor. It makes me appreciate the engineering that went into the Maxima.
I've been looking at a GMC Acadia for my wife, and some owners of the GM's "Lambda" platform have had serious problems:
- severely leaking sun roofs,
- squeaking steering wheels (bad steering columns),
- bad rack and pinion sets,
- Heated washers that overheated
- random control module problems (wipers/washers activating at random),
- bad steering bushings,
- engines that are extremely hard on oil,
- and my favorite - prematurely bad timing belts (like at 15k miles) that requires the engine to be dropped.

Wow, I didn't know Acadia had that many issues. I guess I must be amongst the blessed by God when it comes to Maximas because none of my Maximas has ever needed anymore than routine changes of oil/filters, brakes and other fluids.
My 03 has over 178K miles and still rides like new, my 2K has over 250K miles and no problems.
