This is what happens in NYC.

Last Wedensday, Went to get some food and came out to this in the shopping plaza.

My trusted bodyshop told me it would be 400 to fix. Im gonna have to wait it out a little, and I had plans for some simple mods, now I have to pay for repairs.

It sucks man, the guys at the bodyshop told my dad it was most likely a pick up truck. I made a police report and everything, but Im not gonna go through insurance bc my deductible is 500. What really pisses me off is that this can happen again right after I fix it just like that.

ya good bodyshops guys are usually right on when it comes to visualizing an accident after the fact. I'm assuming you were in a parking lot that didnt have a camera huh? When I got hit, the first thing I did wa go back into the bank and ask if there was a camera on the lot and unfortunately there wasnt...it would have been nice to get a plate # in regards to it happening again, I guess you never know but I'm sure you'll do what I did and decide to park a lot farther away from the entrance from now on

Yea, I called the realty office that owns the plaza, no cameras! The parking lot is very small and the spots are lined up diagonally. I have learned my lesson from all this, and now I park closer to the store Im going to, so I can keep an eye on things!

damn you had the same luck as me I agree if you're not gonna be in the store long and its a smaller store then park close & keep an eye on it or just park as far away as possible if its a mall or grocery store.

I park as far as possible at work and take up two spots on purpose, I hate comin out to my car and finding my car boxed in and surrounded by little **** boxes that would be worth less than the damges to my car. From now on, its two spots for me, Im not having this happen again.

Yea Chris it sucks over here in the city. The one thing Im worried about is that this can happen again after I get it fixed.

Sucks man. Give it a nice extra little kick, should do the trick to get you to that $500 deductible.

Maybe I am not understanding this thought, but doing additional damage would only ADD to the cost of the repair and the most insurance will payout is the total cost of damage minus your deductible. In other words, if he causes the damage to be 2k, the insurance company will only pay $1500. He is stuck with a minimum of $500 in expense regardless of the cost.

Yeah I think the other poster was kidding, this makes no sense. If his repairs are out of pocket $400 it would be idiotic to kick the car making the damage more costly... you ALWAYS want to pay out of pocket if it's cheaper than meeting your deductible...only get insurance involved if it's going to save you money.

Id say that if the pictures of the damage are from where it happened its somewhat your fault. You are all up on the line there not giving whoever parks next comfortable room. I hate when ppl do that.

I agree with this, although nothing justifies damage to your car with no note or info left. If I parked in this space that close to the line as I walked away I would have noticed and either re-parked or found another spot. Do a quick evaluation of the cars and their values around you and take two spots if necessary. Who cares if some random people think you're a jerk, sometimes they just don't make those spaces big enough! The Max is a big girl! Parking next to other nice cars helps too because they'll be mad careful.

Your not wrong, I see the line but whatever your in a parking lot and the rules/laws of the road get completely forgotten in parking lots, but that is besides the point, everyone does something wrong when they are behind the wheel I have lost count of the amount of times I could have been hit in a mall parking lot.

When I was your age I had a 2000 Pathfinder, driving it into the city was a challenge, but I got hit in the front and it was not that bad, I waited it out and it eventually got hit in the back, within a couple days it got rear ended in the back again and that is when I took it in to have it fixed, bad things happen in 3's

It taught me to keep 20 bucks a month for the time when **** happens, and to suck it up and park in a garage, get to know the guy or kid and take care of them cause they take care of your car, or know where to park, and when.

Simple put it's karma, it will all even out

Seeing these pics scares the crap out me. Granted every car will take its nicks and scratches but man...... Sorry to see that. Makes me wonder how paranoid i will be. At least at work i wont have to worry about it, we have a parking lot with more than enough room. So at least i'll have that.

Agreed, very weird damage to the car. Then again you never know how stupid people are and what they're capable of.

The first apartment we lived in wasn't in the best of neighborhoods and one morning we came out to find my girlfriend's car had what looked like someone jump on the hood and there was a HUGE dent in it several feet across. Looked like someone threw their buddy onto the hood of the car or something and completely mashed it. Needless to say she got a new hood from a junk yard, and we moved.

Yea, from the mental image I got I would say someone was thrown onto the hood of that car, lol. Did you guys live near a bar or something lol.

Haha, thanks man. Im getting it fixed soon, and yes lol there is NO WAY IN HELL I would ever go to a camry from this car, lol. I declined the idea of trying to swap my lease and get the New G37XS Coupe, so idk what in the world would have to happen for me to trade for a Camry.
