hey guys, I'm looking at some wheels and wanted to see what you guys think of them. The 2 sets I'm considering are:

Lexani LT702

Asanti VF604

The Lexanis will run about $3500 with rubber and the Asantis about $5000 with rubber. I really like the Asantis but thats I nice chunk of change

The Lexanis? Axis?

I love rims that set a car apart but dont go overboard. I just cant justify spending 3500+ for pretty much summer rims! The Boston weather and the potholes can empty a wallet!

I hear what you're saying beerman, they would just be summer wheels for me too and they really arent cheap but I currently have a set of 22's that I'm trying to sell (off my truck) and so that $ would go str8 towards whatever I decide on for the Max. Figure I will get about $2k for them so that would help tremendously! I was looking at a few others on WheelsNext.com heres the link:

The 2k range is much more desirable than 5k! Im sure the rims will look sweet either way!!

I would go with the Asantis, but $5k for rims and tires on a Maxima? Not so sure that I would want to spend what is essentially 1/6th to 1/7th of the vehicle price on those rims. Why not look at the ASA line from Tire rack? Add to the fact that if you accidentally give the Asantis curb rash, you are going to be majorly pissed off. I know I would be.

These are the ASA 19" rims I want to get when I am ready to replace my Goodyears they are less than a grand:

Those two wheels are expensive cuz they are higher quality. I bet the Asantis are multi-peice. Not sure about the Lexanis. Higher quality wheels balance easier and the finish will hold up better. And when it's time to sell em, you will get more money cuz they are well known brands. Always shop around for wheels. I never take the 1st quote.

I know there are a lot of choices but like I said I'm pretty fussy when it comes to wheels. I want ones that stand out and that I wont likely see on another Max. For that reason I dont mind spending a little extra but ya I would agree $5k is too much. But damn those Asantis are sexy! $3500 would be perfect, especially if/when I sell my other wheels. Plus I'm going to be painting the wheels but thats a story for another time lol

I was also considering these Lorenzo WL29's, which would run about $2200 with a good set of rubbers. But I'm not as sure of them as the 1st two I posted. What do u guys think? They are available in chrome too for basically the same price. My biggest decision will be to go with a chrome, brushed or black face

Yes, you are correct they are multi-piece wheels and good advice on shopping around thats what I'm doing now. Do you have any wheel/tire shop recommendations? I'm not opposed to buying in the US as the price will definitely be better and the Canadian $ is strong right now I have a friend in Michigan who can receive/hold them for me~

I bought my vossens and tires special order from discount tire. They worked with me on the pricing after I showed them some online competitors pricing. You'd be surprised what they carry.

If you're getting them at a shop and you don't feel like riding all over, give a call to some other shops. Most shops won't quote prices like that on the phone but they can make exceptions. Once I decided what rim/tires I wanted, I drove all over pricing the rims at different shops. When I finally found a shop with the lowest price I decided to call my other two favorite places and they said they couldn't price them over the phone or would have to get back to me... I told them I'm at so-and-so local rim shop and I'm about to hand over my card to purchase them, they asked me what price I was about to pay (told them $250 cheaper than actual ) and they beat the shops price I was about to purchase from. Just and idea, or you can always go online.
((I got 20" Lexanis too, waiting for my 15posts so i can post more pics.))
