Navi Positioning Off - Any Suggestions

For the last couple of weeks, my Nav has been off about 500-1000ft. Whenever I go into options and set my current location to try and reposition myself, it eventually falls off course. It almost seems like the speed sense is not syncing with the navi.

I have the navi bypass but that was installed over a month ago. Whenever I engaged it and turned it back off, within seconds, it would find my position again and it would be no problem. Not thinking that is it.

The only thing I've changed in the last couple of weeks is that I changed regions when I went to Vegas and changed it back when I got back to Phoenix. Since returning to Phoenix, I can't seem to get it to stay in sync.

Trying to avoid taking it to the dealership at this point. I would have to take off the Navi bypass so I can get them to figure out the issue.

Does anyone know a way to hard reset the Navi unit? I tried to disconnect the battery for an hour but ended up realizing that their is a backup for the Navi unit and it keeps everything.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My tint guy told me that their were some tint sheets that can interfere with the GPS/satelite signal and that is why it is a good idea to go with a premium tint. Not entirely sure, how if at all this is possible. At first I thought he was F.O.S. and just wanted me to get the more expensive one, but then I read somewhere that in fact this had some validity. I'll try to find the article and post it.

Tint interference would be true if it was a portable Nav unit. The GPS antennae is on the roof.

Steevo- You are not correct in saying this.

I ended up taking it into the dealership and they are going to replace the antenna but they believe the tint strip on my windshield is causing the interference as the antenna is located in the dash and has a direct line of sight through the windshield. The roof antenna is for XM/Sirius only. If they still don't get a read from the satellites today, I'll have to remove the visor strip and see if that works. If not, then it'll be something else. Maybe have to replace the entire head unit.

Ok....here is the outcome. The GPS antenna is in fact under the dash and any film that has metal in it will reflect the signal from the satellites and will cause havoc on your GPS. I ended up stripping off the windshield tint and put ceramic tint on the shield and all is good. You can view all the satellites you are connected to by going to info/other/GPS LOCATION and you should always have between 9-10 satellites connected. I went from 0 to 10 due to the tint.
