Possible to change Maxima HID xenon to Bi-xenon?
Possible to change Maxima HID xenon to Bi-xenon?
I don't really like that the stock high beams are halogen and don't illuminate the road ahead as well as a bi-xenon. I know the previous gen had a bi-xenon but don't know why it's not on the 7th gen. I do a good amount of night driving is why I ask. I don't know if anyone on here has it done and the difficulty of possibly having it done. Any insight would be good.
Thanks

You would have to swap projectors which is pretty simple if you can do that sort of stuff. If you're really interested I could do it for ya.
In the mean time you could throw HIDs in there and the output will be much better.

I haven't really ever messed with changing bulbs and projectors so I wouldn't know what I would be doing so would have someone do it for me. If a bi-xenon is installed would the high beam halogen light in the headlight become useless because they would both just be in the projectors. Where would be the best place to get real quality projectors and lights?

If we install bi-xenons you'll have no need for the halogen high beam. When the bi-xenon shield flips down in the projector, that should be more than good enough lol
For projectors and HIDs, check theretrofitsource.com

I'm not sure how you'd wire that up though. That's the more important question.
So 2 bi-xenon bulbs will illuminate better than 2 HID lows and 2 Silverstar Ultra halogen highs? I've never had bi-xenon lights before, it's impressive if the 2 bi-xenons are better than the stock 4-bulb stock setup.

Definitely light up more than four halogen bulb. Just one TL with the cutoff shield flipped down will probably outshine all four halogens.
Bi-xenon projectors use just one bulb with a solenoid that when the high beams are flipped, the cutoff shield flips down to allow all light through the projector with not cut off no nada. They're extremely powerful!

I guess putting HID's in the highs would be an option as well as long as you don't mind not being able to flash anybody and waiting for the highs to warm up every time you turn them on, which I'm sure aren't good for the ballasts.

My 07 uses the same HID for High and low. There's a cutoff door that blocks the top of the beam, and opens up when you go for high beam to get more light farther down the road. But no dual bulb or anything like that.
You could always go with higher watt halogens or HIR bulbs for the high beams.
Is it possible to install another hid projector in the highbeam spot like the FX35 or Qx56? I think installing a Bi-xenon will require a lot of work. If I can't find another way I'll probably just put in a HID bulb for the highbeam. What HID highbeam bulb should I buy to match the stock HID xenons?

But if you're gonna throw HIDs in the high beams, go with 4300K.
i actually have a projector with the ballas and bulb from a 07 infiniti. i think its bi-xenon not to sure. ill upload some pics and ill be selling it. not sure on the price yet i gotta check around see what they go for then ill let you guys know who ever is interested in it

That would be really cool and different to have two different projectors in the housing. That is something I would really consider as I would not only get the Bi-xenon projection but it would look very good as well. It does sound pricey though. We could possibly use that highbeam projector for a DRL and highbeam at night. The Maxima would look like a Infiniti M. Notice the DRL but I would have it match my stock xenon.

Is it a 9005/HB2? Is any other projector able to fit? I believe the wiring may be complicated for what I'm looking for. The highbeam used as a low powered DRL when car is on and when highbeams are used the highbeam comes up along with the original HID projector or something like that.

I'm not good with wiring so someone is gonna have to chime in for that lol.
Search around and see if a set of TSX hid projectors will fit. I had a set of those retroed into my 97 and they light up the road like it was daytime.
Bixenon has nothing to do with bulbs. Has everything to do with the projector. I would think it would be fairly simple to wire a set up. Just have to find the proper power source (hot wire) when your stock high beams are activated. Tie that into the solenoid that drops the cut off shield on the bixenon projector and you golden.

While I agree with you my wallet says 5000k outputs almost as many lumens and is a fraction of the cost.
