no interior lights!

I have no interior lights in the max; the dash and radio lights are good, but nothing as far as the roof lights, and visor mirror lights! Any ideas, maybe a fuse??

Did you make sure the button was not set on the "OFF" position?

Should be a fuse

UNLESS, as Ricko suggested, you may have the interior lights turned off at the three-way switch ('ON-DOOR-OFF') on the ceiling between the sun visors.

I had that issue a few days after I got the car, some days my interior lights would work, some days not. Another one of my issues also at the time was the passenger side door lock would not behave properly. It took about 2 weeks of visits before the stealership figured it out. It appears that some of the wires going into one of the plugs for the Body Control Module had connector pins which were not fully seated into the connector body. Once the tech, gave them an extra push, they seated just fine and all worked. But of course in typical stealership ways, by then they had replaced the door lock solenoid, and interior light switch on that door. They had 2nd-Day ordered and were ready to replace the BCM in the car, when the tech stumbled upon the problem. Since I had the car only 2 weeks prior, I was about ready to send it back as a lemon. But coming up on my 2nd year of ownership now. But since then, the only problem I have had is the outside temp sensor and display on the gauge cluster.

So i suggest check fuses, switch operation and such. After that make sure you get lights in the trunk. If you have any other electrical issues as well, point them towards the BCM.

Definitely a fuse. Don't even bother testing it, just go and look and your little fuse panel when you pull it off and see which one is for interior lighting, it is clearly marked I just did this exact fuse replacement a few weeks ago.

Go to Advance Auto and get a small pack of low-profile fuses and replace it. My pain was my car is missing it's fuse puller so I had to use needlenose plyers.

so yea it was a fuse!; I changed it, lights worked BUT after going for a drive, they go out again, the fuse keeps burning out! There must be something causing this to happen. Also the auto up on the windows not working. Anyone else have these electrical problems???

The auto window up and down isn't an electrical issue it just needs to be reset. If I recall correctly just hold the window roll down button for 10 seconds, then hold the roll up button for 10 seconds, and then auto windows should work again. Had to do it for mine after disconnecting my battery.

Did you change your interior lights to LED's or something? If you've made any changes to lighting I'd change it back and test each LED to see if one of them is shorting the fuse. If you haven't then it might be worth seeing what happens to burn them out again (door lights go on? dome lights? what?) and try taking the bulb out and replacing it.

I think there's a problem with the fuse line, where the fuse goes in.

$560 for the headliner and $400 in labor. $960
The headliner is causing the short or something like that. So what would happen if i put a bigger fuse in its place?

Don't go with a bigger fuse unless you plan to have a :

I guess it must be rubbing on the wires?

jixxer - I think I would fight this with Nissan/Dealer, have you installed some accessory that would've caused this like a radar detector, etc otherwise this seems ridiculous and a possible design fault.

I have the same problem. I replaced the 10 amp fuse on the panel on the drivers side. As soon as the contacts make a connection you can hear the fuse snap. did it 3 times. Ignition and headlights are off. Now what?!

Angry Fuse pops immediatly

I have the exact same problem. I replace the blown 10 amp fuse on the drivers side fuse box. It pops immediately upon contact. Ignition off, lights off. I even disconnected the battery once. No matter what I do, it pops right away.
