H&R or Eibach springs?
Update. Eibachs were just installed on my S. Ride is awesome. Not quite as harsh as the sport package but firmed up some. The S dampens the springs just fine, no bouncing. That being said, if the H&R really are .1 higher in back and .1 lower in front, I'd probably go that route next time. Little more rake would be bout perfect. I just couldn't pass up the deal. Car feels great. Def. needs sway bars though...

getting mine dropped as we speak, i see a lot of people talking about camber kits on here, as far as i know all u need is an alignment after its dropped, no camber kits are necessary so u can save yourself some money
About how much does it run to get the Eibach springs installed? How much is the average alignment for after the spring installation?
well spring installation $ is gonna depend where you bring it, i have a friend who does it so im only paying $120, anything over $180 wouldn't be a good deal, alignment cost is gonna be the same as any other time you've gotten ur car serviced and they did an alignment unless you bring it to a speciality place where they do it electronically etc etc
Depends on where you go, it can vary greatly. I went to a local tuning shop and they charged me $150 for the spring install. Dealer wanted $600. Alignment's vary as well, but generally are in the $75-125 range.
i havent seen my car yet since it was getting lowered, i didn't order spacers cause ive head nothing good about them, and people just recommend buying wheels and tires w offsets so you dont have to worry about spacers, im not sure when im gonna switch up my wheels and tires, prob next summer, but does anyone have a pic of their max lowered on springs w out spacers, curious if the wheels are gonna look too pushed in or not
Just get it done! She wouldn't notice would she? It's not like its something that can be undone .
I am soooo close to pulling the trigger on this modification, but I still can't decide on which system I want to go with.......Eibach????? H&R?????? I am not getting much help from here as well........Where are all the pictures at of your rides lowered???
Get the H&R's. May be a few bucks more, but the max def needs more drop in the front. I have Eibachs and it's basically level, WITH the spare tire out. .2" inch more rake with HR's would be better. Subtle, but def better. I'd go HR's next time in a heartbeat. Pull the trigger...it is the first mod that should be done IMHO. Even before wheels. My car lowered with stock 18's looks better and more refined than a max with bigs wheels an huge fender gaps, jacked up in front. (rant off)
Good luck man. For a few hundred, it will "finish" your ride. It's the look you want, trust me.

I did
And here's a photo of my Max on stock 19's dropped on Eibach's. I haven't seen the Max on H&R so can't comment, but I like what I got.

She looks sweet....you should post more pics to help me sway my decision!!! I am so close to making it happen......but I would love to se more angles to let get a full view!
maybe its time to drop mine too lol. had the spring for a year now and sitting in the storage room. never installed them because with the stock height i still scratch getting out my driveway no matter what angle i turned. but i got a solution to that problem now. will mod my wind splitter with my lip and all the scratch will go on that...
So glad I chose the Eibachs. Can't wait to get my project under way. My 2011 Max is the tamest project car that I have ever done but really looking forward to it. Thanks for all of the insight available on this site!
very sweet ! I have some 19" work VSXX that has perfect fitment combo but they are 19, it's either these or 20" m6 reppy's.
still can't decide between going with a slight drop on eibach or going all out with coilovers.
the car looks so good in stock form that I find it no rush to modify it.

why are some of u so obsessed with getting the rear higher than the front with HR's ? the eibach is perfect.
so basically u guys are wanting the rear to be stock height and the front to be 1 inch lower? how ridiculous would that look ?
the "un-even" drop by eibach is to compensate for the car's original height, not the car's wheel arch. Even with eibach's lower rear, the
car still sits lower at the front if u did the measurement from pavement to bumper.

the whole point of custom wheels is to NOT need spacers, it's like getting a custom fitted dress shirt, you don't order a custom dress shirt only to have to fold up the barrel cuff because it's too long....not sure if u even understand what a barrel cuff is but u get the point.
I have found that it is a lot easier to buy wheels out of stock and use spacers to get the look you want rather than to pay and wait for custom wheels. Just the way I like to do it. I did order two sets of custom wheels from SSR a few years ago because the Body Kits on the cars were so wide.
Well I DID IT!!!! I ordered the Eibach spring set and camber bolt kit and it should be here by Monday!!! I can't wait......pretty excited to finally get rid of the wheel gap and have the MAX look the way she should have off the showroom floor!
You finally dropping that bad boy! Congrats!
FINALLY HERE!!!
I got home from work yesterday to find a great surprise on my porch from UPS!!!! EIBACH IS HERE :-) So I took a few before pics of my setup to have a comparison.....so check em out....because the next pics will be of the MAX dropped.....which happens tomorrow!!!

Pretty CRAPPY day!!! Co-workers let me down and I did not get to drop off my ride at the shop to get the springs installed......they promised they would follow me so I could leave it at the shop at lunch and drop me off after work......but noooooo :-( Have to wait till Saturday now...... :-( so the saga continues...
Just had my Eibachs installed yesterday. Wheels will arrive this coming week. I love the way it sits. I am going to measure the spacing when the new wheels are installed. I use a guy on the west coast that makes custom spacers. I have never had a problem with spacers. I have used them on several custom cars. I use a Lip Roller that allows the rear wheels to fit snug without any rub.
