Mirror Memory

Occasionally, after driving in reverse, my side view mirrors will not reset all the way. They end up tilted lower than where I had them set in memory. Whats really annoying me, is I had this same intermittent problem on my 2005 Maxima and they could never fix it. The 2005 did not have reverse tilt, but did have memory. Every once in a while I would start the car and the mirrors would end up aimed down.
Putting the car in park and pressing the memory button still sends the mirrors back to where they belong.
Also, I could swear this has also happened with the steering wheel setting itself slightly lower than the memory setting.
ANyone else experience this or get it fixed?? I hate to have them mess with it and start replacing parts because I have a feeling they will not be able to figure it out, just like what happened with my 2005.
Its simple enough to flip into park real quick and press the memory button to fix the mirrors.....

I've seen other people state that same steering wheel problem. I'd take it in while it's still on warranty.

Yeah every now and then my steering wheel is slightly lower than what i have it set to in memory. Haven't had the issue with the mirrors though.

The steering wheel thing I am not positive about, but the mirrors keeps happening. I just broke 3000 miles so will be going in for my oil change soon.

They won't tilt if you put the mirror switch to neutral "center position" it shall work either on the left or right position.

THEORY ....Put car in reverse. The mirrors tilt when in reverse.. Then shift into drive and immediately pull away BEFORE the mirrors finish tilting back up. They stop because the vehicle motion sensor disables the memory setting??? Haven't been able to consistently reproduce this yet.

IMAK, Thanks for the tip. That really helped and kinda makes sense (being able to turn the tilt feature on & off). :-)

Are you experiencing what happened to me a few months ago? My passenger side-mirror apparently froze out and needed to be replaced.

http://forums.maxima.org/7th-generat...lfunction.html

Apparently there is a 1 out of 20 frequency for the automatic windows to fail according to my service manager. I would bring it in for service, replicated or not, just to have them look at it and run tests. Failing side-mirrors getting a mind of their own isn't fun to drive with on the highway...

For me its both mirrors occaisonally will not come all the way back up. But my "Testing" seems to confirm that it will not happen if I wait a moment before driving off.

Well 2 days ago I got into my car at night to drive my friend to a restaurant, after I dropped her off I noticed that my right passanger side mirror was turned more to the left. On the way back home I stopped and pushed the Memory Seat 1 button and it was strugling getting back to it memorized position. I hit the 2nd Memory Seat button and it worked perfectly fine! Today it happened again, so I don't really know what's the problem. I tried moving it around and pushed the 1 memory buttom nothing same thing but the 2nd one works. Any thoughts on that guys? I would really be appriciated if someone tells me what's up Thank You!

Makc1kNYC - Strange one. If you checked and the glass mirror is not scraping against the mirror housing, I would first reset everything on the #1 setting again, and if the problem is still there, You may need a new mirror under warranty.
