is black the best color for the max ?
hate me if u want but I don't care for black on our cars...it makes them look small and cheap or something....can't put my finger on it. (IMO) BUT this ONLY applies to stock black cars. Dropped, tinted and etc black cars look cool.
My parents always owned black cars. They are a ***** to keep clean. It's either silver or white for me although I do notice that white cars are tough unless they are garaged. If white cars are kept outside, you get dark streaks from the rain over time that are hard to get off.
i know what u mean. it hides the details of the body. light colors you see all the lines and stuff on the body.
My first choice was the Crimson Black. The one I wanted was sold three days after I test drove it while I was waiting for my insurance claim to go through for my totaled Sentra. About a month later I found Blaxima. She's high maintenance without a doubt but as others have said, when she's all cleaned and dolled up, she's a definite head turner.

I thought about black but for me I knew in new england weather I could never keep it perfect. Metallic black is easier as it covers minor blemishes and swirls but that is not a option for the maxima
I went with white and LOVE it and hate white cars in general.

I just bought my 3rd Maxima, brand new 2011 SV with the sport package. I went back to the pearl white. My 96 was pearl white and I loved it. Bought a 04 in the silver and it was nice, hides dirt ok. The 05 is Black and I love it when it's clean but it takes a lot of care to get it perfect. Black just show so much, swirls, dirt, dust... so you have to spend a ton of time with the clay bar, polishing... my new one is freaking beautiful and I'm glad I have a pearl white one back in the garage.
every different car design looks good in a certain color. Some designs look better in certain colors.
but IMO the wide mighty a35 max does look best in simple black, or SUPER BLACK as they call it. It reduces the edgy lines and goes in tune with the simple yet powerful design stance.
but black is pita to maintain, if I could do it all over again I'd go for the light silver. silver seems to blend better with the black moldings etc.
white is great to! the dark blue would have been awesome if it was a darker, more midnight blue...but the dark navy blue nissan offer's is kinda too bright especially when sun hits it. A really dark, menacing midnight metallic blue would rock hard on a35.
but in black, it just looks beastly with the swooping shoulder lines swooping across the hood and wide fender stance flexing it's muscles.

agree 100% and color looks awesome in direct sunlight with the pearl effect and mettalic showing through
Black
IMO the best way to keep a black car clean is to first get the car detailed and clay barred. clay bars leave like a coating or plasti like shield on black cars. The next thing is to constantly wipe the car off. do not wash it. just take a micro fiber and swipe it on and off of the car DO NOT RUB rubbing will make swirls. if you do this about 3 times a week you will be fine. when you do go through a car wash just drive the car and let it air dry then take the micro fiber and do the same. Trust me it works. I had a black vw cc and did it. i just puchased a black maxima and will do the same.
I went by the local Nissan dealer this past weekend and I noticed the stream of 2012 Maxima's coming in. Saw a black Maxima S with the PP and it had the 18" dark gunmetal wheels on it and it looked really hot.
With the dark tinted tails, the thing reminded me of the Acura TL Type S with the dark wheels. Had a very stealthy look to it.

Just bought my first Maxima yesterday and pick it up tomorrow night. I got super black sports and tech package. I have always been a fan of black cars and over the years have had 8 different vehicles. It is a lot of work to keep it clean but looks so good to me.
I am not sure if it is someone on this forum or another but someones signature is something like:
"Black is not a color, it is a part time job"
Don't flame me but a lot of people will have only one black car in their life. They will then go to a lighter color. I think black is the most beautiful color for the 15 minutes it is clean, but there is just so much upkeep.

I like black very much, but I also like white and red. My last car was the color of dirt...and I never had to wash it. 2007 Hyundai Sonata in Natural Khaki...that was a mighty fine color.
I like how the dark grill of my 2012 Sport pops as well as the smoked tail lights as my car is white. If it was black, this contrast would be less noticible.
One thing's for sure...when your car is white, it's basically the same color as glare...so it's harder to tell that you've done an awesome job cleaning and waxing it. A black car on the other hand shows glare much better, and a clean black car really shows it.

I have owned 3 black vehicles. It might take extra effort to keep black looking good, but not much more than someone who washes and waxes regularly. I want an s2000 and want to get in something other than black for a change. I have no regrets about the color of my maxima, but I sure do like the way a white max looks with black accents.
