Eibach spring install

Who has installed them and can give some tips or tricks? What all is involved? Do you have to use a spring compressor? Will one from autozone work?

Installing springs is pretty straight forward. Just compress them and remove the old strut+mount and swap everything on to the new ones while they are compressed. Just be careful doing it because if the spring comes out of the compressor is can cause some serious problems for the people involved.

hey man just installed these yesterday myself. I did it with hand wrenches and $10 spring compressors from harbor freight. Tip: loosen the top strut assembly nut before you remove the entire assembly. It's the 18mm you see in the engine bay. Otherwise it sucks without an air gun. Biggest pain is that you have to compress the new springs too (haven't had to do that on honda or ford spring install) to install them. fronts prob take an hour each and rears take like 15 min each. It's pretty easy stuff.

edit: LOOSEN the top nut. DO NOT remove it. Just to clarify, as that will make your life miserable.

Thanks for the tips!

Is the spring compressor you used the type that you use a socket wrench on to tighten and compress the spring?
