Question Vibration Issue problem!

Took my car to Nissan the other day for an oil change, they rotated my tires and since then I have vibration between 60-65, and also when I brake.

Anyone know what's causing the vibration @ 60 and also when apply the brakes?

Please post, thanks

Not sure if same issue, but i have had this issue since they did a tsb service for front strut. it vibrates at those speeds at higher, though it varies, but not while braking-may need to balance your tires, but not sure how that would play out on braking. taking mine in this week again for vibrations .- if no fix, will be changing tires in near future, but want to make sure it is not something mechanical that will still be present- either way , take yours back and have it addressed, sooner than later

I just brought my car into the dealer yesterday to have the brakes looked at because they were vibrating when I stopped. I figured they were warped rotors. I was right - and Nissan resurfaced the rotors and now the car stops as smooth as butter. Since I only have 16k miles - it was covered under warranty.

not sure what your high speed problem is... maybe wheel balance?

This was covered under warranty? Nice. My car vibrates too but I figured any resurfacing of rotors would cost money. I can feel with my finger the front rotors are grooved.

Interesting, I guess I will stop by Nissan and see if they'll help me out...
Good info, thanks!

I rotated my stock RSA's when I took my winter rims/tires off and I picked up a vibration at high speeds too. I blame it on the horrible tires that they put on our cars, I will NEVER buy a Goodyear tire ever again. I had a bad experience with a set of Eagle F1 tires that I put on my Grand Prix GTP as well, I thought they were the worst tires I ever had until I got to experience these RSA's. I can't wait until they wear out.

I had this problem with one of my two 1985 Maximas, with my 2000 Maxima SE and my 2004 Maxima SL (but not my other Maximas). In all three cases, the problem was improper balancing of the tires. Some shops use old-style balancing machines, and always add the weights on the outside of the rim.

Good balancing machines tell the mechanic whether the weight needs to be toward the outside of the rim or the inside of the rim, and if the weights need to be split between different points on the rim.

This tendency to introduce vibration by rotating the tires is why I finally changed my rotation schedule to every 15K miles. I have been much happier with this schedule.

I think oil changes and tire rotations are generally recommended far too often for folks who do normal driving in normal road conditions. But I can see the dealer's viewpoint: they make money off these services, and, when done properly, overdoing them causes no harm to the car.

As to vibration during braking, that is almost always either a warped rotor or irregular glazing on the rotor's surface. I used to have that problem fairly often, but since I began breaking in my brakes very carefully the first 2400 miles after buying my cars, I have not had that problem. I also try to avoid heavy or repeated braking unless absolutely necessary, especially in warm weather. Overheating is usually the root cause of warping and glazing.

I figured it would have cost me money, but they didn't even question it. They machined the rotors without hesitation and it was under warranty. I only have 16k miles - if that matters?
