I don't believe so. I saw that this morning on the Nissan site for the 2012s and was pleased to see it. When you have a little one that becomes an important item.

Tell me about! I have one of those removable ones in my 5.5gen. I would love to retro fit one in both my cars.

The 2012 Maxima is now on the nissanusa website.

I like those better than the previous 18" design. However, I think the new 19's aren't as appealing as the previous offering.

Also I noticed the illuminated kick panels aren't mentioned anywhere, I built a LE model nothing, not even a mention as a option, accessory or standard feature!

Disagree, these darker wheels together with the dark finish grille and smoked headlights should look awesome.
I'm thinking Winter Frost with charcoal interior.

As STARR said, the power rear sunshade is part of the premium package. It has been available since the 7th gen went on sale June 26th of 2008. I have it on my 2009 which was built three years ago this month, and I keep that shade up from April to September. I just lowered it for the winter yesterday.

Well after working for Nissan Corporate for many years, you learn to know that the Sales staff/parts staff are not always highly trained on the products...lol. Nissan is known for "slightly" changing the colors on a models 4 to 10 yr run (previous Pathfinder)........to the casual observer they look similiar but in actuality they aren't and would be off if you were to get a panel or 2 repainted in the wrong code!

The Illuminated Kick Plates (Option N92) will have "Late availability", whatever that means.

The External Ground Lighting looks cool as well.
Listed on the accessories page but not on the build sheet.

'Late availability' means this option will not be available at intro time, but will be available during the model run. Normally, 'late availability' options first appear sometime between between October and February.

The colors Tuscan Sun (code - NAD) and Navy Blue (code - RAB) are also late availability. With exterior colors, late availability is usually no later than September or October.

A grille surround has been added. The change is hardly noticable on light colored cars, but is rather noticable on dark colored cars. A few here who like dark cars seem to prefer the previous grill.

How do you like the new wheels?

Funny thing about the 7th generation is its thrown in between a loop being the same size and only slightly larger than the altima.

I just saw the new 2012s........ Eh.

The tail-lights look a little plasticky (or more so than before) due to the silver bordering around the inside.

And the new 19" rims look LESS sporty than the 2011 model's. I'm happy I got mine when I did

you know what I agree with you 100% the clear tailights do scream cheap like a cost cutting design but at the same time it gives the car a bit more edge, when you looked at the previous generation from behind it looked fierce like a tiger. If Nissan would have kept the dimensions of the prior 04-08 into the 09-present the car would be perfect.

I actually like the dimensions of the 2011 model (7th gen).

I owned an 01' Maxima, and my sisters had a 92' and 94' so I've seen this car evolve quite a bit. So far, this is the best design I've seen to date.

The ONLY gripe I have is I wish it had just a TAD more rear-seating room (Not that I ever sit there) but just looking at it, I can tell it's a little more cramped than before.

interior color options for 2012...

Is the 2012 Maxima going to have the same color scheme as 2011 with the steering wheel and dashboard black, rather than matching the seat/floor color? also the site mentions that there are three color options black, metallic and cherrywood trim--what parts of the car are considered trim exactly?

I can't figure out why Nissan deleted the auto up/down rear windows on the Premium Package. Isn't that the second or third thing Nissan has deleted from that package since 2009?

We owned a 93, an 02 and 04 and a 06 Maxima In each generation the interior space was generious, but 09 to present its more cramped in the rear than any generation I can recall, I had a 98 contour after owning that rear seat legroom was my petpeeve that car was cramped.

Call me crazy, but my sister's 2011 Altima MAY have more rear-seating room.....

See I know i'm not crazy that altima is bigger than the 7th, it might be longer but not as wide correct me if im wrong though. What made me mad is for the 6th generation how they gave the altima 270HP and cut the 07-08 Maxima down to 255, but the 290 in the 7th generation is worth it.

Maybe the front bucket seats take up a coupe of inches more of space

Well it's nothing I'm too concerned about....

People never complain, and it fits the Maximas sleek mean bullet-like appearance.

One of my friends said when he got in my car "It's like you're in a jet..."

Yes, Nissan removed the rear window auto up/down feature, the rear seat radio/heating controls(Premium)on the center armrest. These were things that cinched the deal on the 2010 Premium /Tech I bought new. So Nissan, I'll be moving on to something else next time.

I saw a couple of the '12 models at my dealership over the weekend. The changes to me are...meh. i do not like the rear lights at all with the chrome looking trim on them although it is nice that they come factory smoked at least. This picture does NOT have the smoked option. There was one on the other side of the dealership had that option though.

The new 18s are nice. I like how are different than a typical factory rim a
little. I still think the car is so large that a 19 should be the standard on this car, the 18 is just too small to me.

That new Java Metallic or whatever they call that color is ok. It is not a true brown but more of a darker beige color with some metallic in it. It is one of those colors that you def would have to see in person to determine if you like. I would think most people on here would not prefer it though. The '12 on the other side of the dealership had this color option along with the smoked tails.

Those new 18's seem to have a more open look to them over the 09-11 ones. I dig.

Agreed, I prefer these over the older 18s any day, but the car should only come with 19s anyways, haha.

Still wish when I traded my '09 SV Sport in for the '11 SV Premium they would have let me swap the wheels out like I was trying to do

I concur and they still tried to make them sorta mimic the look of 19's, still retaining that "rayish" look. I also noticed that some models of the Rogue has these "rayish" looking rims as well.

Today Nissan lowered the price for the LE package to $710. (which they had originally anounced but later raised it to $900.) Great! Also you can now select the Illuminated Kick Plates as a $200 option on both the S and SV. Still listed as late availability.

Hey man, not to rub it in but my dealership actually did this for me. Granted, I've purchased five cars from them in the past seven years (yeah, I swap alot!). I wait and sprung that requirement on them at the tail-end of the negotiation process. In addition to free window tint and oil changes up to 36K miles, they agreed to the swap. If I'm not mistaken, I believe they came from a program/demo car the manager was driving, which probably made the whole thing even remotely possible. Otherwise, slim chances they would've considered it.
