I think I have a problem. IF YOU OWN A STILLEN CAI THEN PLEASE HELP!!

So i bought a used CAI from one of the mebers on here and he was a nice hy. His buddy removed the stillen and anyway when i got the CAI it was missing the mounting bracket that secures the filter head to the engine bay. He looked and said he didnt think he had it so I have Stillen looking into getting it for me but then i noticed that at the end of the filter where the chrome Stillen insignia is thats where the bracket should mount. Instead of a threaded bolt sticking out it is flush and looks like the bolt may have broken? Hers a picture. Can anyone tell me if the bolt should be protruding from the end of the filter or shoudl it be flush like it is? If it is supposed to be flush then how would i secure anything to it? I really need some help with this. Thanks

Have you asked Josh @ Stillen? He's our Stillen rep here and often helps org members with questions on stillen products. I'm sure he would know. Good luck with everything.

The bolt that going through the end of the filter should stick out by about 5mm. This bolt is NOT already threaded into the end of the filter by Stillen. I know this sounds dumb, but did you look down into the cone to see if the bolt had backed out or is still in there? If it's not in there, I highly doubt the bolt sheared off as it doesn't take a whole lot of torque to get that tight.

If Josh@Stillen can't source the bracket and/or bolt and nut, you can go to HD or Lowe's and fab up your own bracket pretty easily yourself.

I just installed my Stillen intake last weekend and came across this. You have to reach inside the air filter and push the bold through so that the threads protrude from it on the outside. Then you have to find which bolt that is already there for where it mounts inside the bay. The picture isn't exactly the greatest, but if you need anymore help, feel freel to holler at me

Also how did you get your hand inside the filter to push the bolt out. Seems impossible.

Is there a thick plastic piece mounted flush inside the filter and tightened down with outside metal ring? If so, this is the velocity stack and needs to be pulled out in order to get your hand down inside the filter. If the plastic ring isn't in there, find a woman with really small hands to help you out

that's exactly right. On mine, the piece that's inside the filter wasn't attached, so it's easy to just reach inside the filter. And on a weird note, I was shipped 2 of them in my packet. I'll give it to you for free. PM me and we'll discuss where I can ship it too.

Sorry, I got the PM as I got back into the office this morning, I wasn't able to check things over the weekend.

Good talking with you this morning, and glad we got the bracket you needed so you can get that installed.

Feel free to PM or email me if you end up with anything else missing or have any questions..
