How are you keeping your cars/wheels safe?
I'm thinkin' about getting an alarm, not sure yet though. I'm not too concerned yet with people taking the car, since it's probably still kind of difficult to scan/duplicate someones fob signal. But more with someone taking the wheels. There's wheel locks, but can't they be stripped or over-torqued? Then viper has a tilt sensor, but that's ineffective if they don't jack one end of the car up at a time. How are you guys keeping your stuff safe? I'm guessing my best bet would be a Viper 5902 with tilt and hope for the best? I live in a gated condo complex and had my accord window smashed in for my stereo a few years ago. A couple other people had their windows broken too. Fortunately, haven't seen anyone sitting on bricks yet.

Ultimately though anyone who wants to smash your stuff isn't going to be put off by any alarm...my man had his window smashed and when the alarm started going off they just smashed a bunch of stuff on his dash and ran - over 2 grand in damage in like 15 seconds cause they got frustrated...
Something else to consider...move to a better part of town.
Seriously, cars get broken into even in the suburbs, but the frequency is much lower then the streets you're describing...
And Ghozt...what's this "my man" ****? I hope you're a chick!

to the OP : if you're getting wheel locks at least go with two sets it is easy for people to take off the other 4 lugs and just twist the wheel off the last one breaking the lug. prolly dont need a proximity sensor or anything like that unless you just HAVE to have your windows down. also i dont know if this is available for the Max, but I know Infiniti can add additional wheel sensors on the G35 to their rims that works with the OEM alarm.
I got the 5902, I like it. Tilt sensor can be annoying if you park on hills you'll need to manually disable that zone, so I skipped that one.

I think it's pretty straight forward, search for Viper dealers and give a local one a call and double check but I'm pretty sure you can disable any alarm zone on the car using the remote. For example they said it's common for people who get the add-on noise module to have it go off during thunderstorms and stuff like that so they'll disable it with the remote temporarily.
