2012 Puddle lights
I've been looking to do this myself as well as the illuminated kick plates which apparently are discontinued (representative from NissanAccessories247.com confirmed this). However, I did get the PDF install from the rep. Here is the link fellas!

I installed these a long time ago:

right now they are even on sale for $40 and you get five lights on each side rather than 4. Below is a pic I snapped when I hooked them up for the first time. This was done on an '09 so no conduits and rubber gaskets to help the install. I ended up drilling holes for, and placing rubber grommets myself to route the wires. Overall, it is a fairly straight forward install though, the completely flat profile of our mudguards makes it easy.

No offense taken. I did these when I got the car in 2008, so I had no idea that Nissan would come out with something similar. Also, they look quite a bit brighter and more filled out in person than on the iPhone image. Still, you are right the OEM ones don't look like mine :-P
The wring was simple. I spliced them into the interior foot well light circuit, so they come on and dim just like the dome light and the foot well lights. I really like the fading when they turn off, and that should work with any LED kit. If you want larger light spots with more diffuse lighting, there are tons of different LED spots you can use to customize to your liking.

Yes, they come on just like the foot well lights; so when unlocking the car, opening the door, and I believe also by turning off the car when you park. The lights then dim and fade to off when the car is either locked, started, or when a set amount of time has passed. Basically, whatever Nissan decided to do with the courtesy lights is what these are following.
Yes, I was talking about mine. Basically, the wiring I decided to use is no different than what is described in the installation pdf for the OEM version. Functionally they are going to behave the same.
Also, if you are going to attempt installing any sort of puddle light, be it OEM or DIY, you need to remove the side skirts and it is virtually guaranteed that you will damage some of the clips that are used to fasten it. In my experience the clips that go horizontally into the car will not hold well once they were removed, even if they aren't broken. So save yourself some head ache and get replacement clips before you start the project... I had to wait three days before I could put my side skirts back on.

For the wiring I used Posi-Taps:

Easiest place to splice in is directly to the wires going to the foot well lights. Otherwise you could also follow the instructions posted for the OEM install above.
I had to get my clips from a Nissan dealership, since the car was pretty new and I couldn't find them online. Luckily I had a few left in the original bag with the part number. Googling it gave me this source:

Also I highly recommend getting this:
http://www.amazon.com/No-Scratch-Too...1786027&sr=8-1
It will be incredibly useful for getting the side skirt pried off without damaging it. The clips are pretty tough to get out.

Thread bump:
I know this thread is a year old, but can someone please post pictures of the side skirts off the car? I need pictures of the side skirts themselves, preferably from the inside part from any and all angles. These are so that I have an idea how much room I have to work with and where to tuck wires in.
Thank you.

Since this thread is on the front page, I might as well post this picture.
I know there is a hot spot near the wheels, and it's not clear in this photo, but the rear does not extend out as far as the rest of them.
EDIT:
Forgot to mention these are not OEM, but a mixed and matched together set from VLEDS.
When I have more time and photos, I'll do a write up.

Looks like a Nissan dealership near me sells the OEM kit for $120. Tempted to stop by there next week and see how much for the install.

The part itself was $120, and I was quoted for about three hours worth of labor.
Since most of us are DIYers on here, I got everything working for 2 cans of coke (I do not drink alcohol lol) and about $35 worth of LED strips and wires from VLEDS, some electrical tape, and a tube of silicone sealant.
Keeping with my philosophy, everything is completely undo-able, no permanent modifications.
I'll see what they quote and if its a lot I'll do the install myself. I'm sure it will take me quite a bit longer than the dealer, but I have no issues ripping things apart.
Hell I've had my bumper cover off my 04 Maxima at least a dozen times. I do admit though I'd rather have the OEM part though.

the OEM job does look really good and I do admit some of the actual aftermarket LED lights look good as well but I do want to make sure that it looks stock. unfortunately I'm not blessed with a mechanical thumb so I think I may have the dealership do it or I'll have to look up the instructions and bring it to the shop.

Mossy Nisaan Oceanside installed them. the lights are inside of the kick panel..
