I take it the same goes for bike roof racks since companies like Thule or Yakima use the same base components for skis, boards and bikes.

Please someone post your 7th gen with a roof rack and wind deflector. I dare not store my muddy mtb inside my Maxima. Road bike yeah. Not too many 7th gen images on google. There was one tiny one but thats it.

Personally, I despise the looks of roof racks. They look ugly, especially on our sleek Maximas, and make a ton of wind noise.

I use a Saris Bones trunk mount rack to haul me and my g/f's Cannondale mtb's around. Most people don't like those, and honestly i'm getting tired of it having to make constant adjustments to it to keep it snug with many thousands of dollars of bicycles hanging off the back. I'm seriously considering getting the Sea Sucker rack system. It uses very strong suction cups and you can practically stick them anywhere on your car for a custom arrangement. Give their website a look...

Here's a few pics I came across.

i agree they look good some CERTAIN cars i dont think it would look bad on ours but i find it a complete waste of money for a good rack id rather spend that money on other parts

This is the first time I've heard of someone actually wanting to drop a couple hundred dollars on a roof rack as a decorative accessory and not to actually use it for it's intended purposes. Alrighty then...

Interesting solution. Found more info here: http://forums.mtbr.com/car-biker/seasucker-587996.html

It seems to hold well according to some members at mtbr.com. Only problem is someone can steal those mounts easily. So you must put them away. Also, you cannot lock your bike. It's good to use if you go for a ride and don't need to go anywhere else after.

Might still have to go for a roof rack. My friend's Thule rack on his 4th gen maxima holds 3 bikes. Once you get the base, all you need are the gutters.

The Sea Suckers are quite pricey but I think they are a great solution for unique vehicles such as convertibles or Maximas with panoramic roofs. Great find!

Sea Sucker does make a lock that fits inside your trunk to run a cable lock through. With my current rack, I usually don't leave it on. Once i'm done using it, I remove it.

Here's the link...

Another option I was thinking of is installing a receiver hitch to use a hitch mounted bike rack. That way when I'm done using it, I can just remove it and put it away. I would also be able to access my trunk, whereas with my current trunk mounted bike rack, I cannot unless I remove it.
