Anybody Have Any Info On This?
I would like to share a brief summary or review on a similar product I had installed on my previous car.
I'm in no way affiliated and connected to these manufacture's and you'll get no or little support from them when there's some problems. They do respond through e-mails though, with a day worth of lag.
It was a 8" screen double-din Nav/GPS/TV/DVD/Radio/Bluetooth/Aux (I-pod and 3.5mm plug)/ USB/Micro SD for $350 running a Microsoft CE OS in the background.
You'll find the same setup in these Chinese made double-din stereo all over the net for every model of the car manufacturers out there. There's two major Chinese stereo manufacture for these stereo's and they use the same setup, software and probably same parts supplier for their units that they market and sell to every possible Chinese online retailer's that you'll come across in the net. (Word of caution about AliExpress, I first ordered my unit through them and waited three weeks and they didn't even bother to reply to my e-mails for order status, so I've cancelled it and ordered the same unit from another website retailer for $50 LESS!
)
These units have two computer boards that are independent (one for Nav/GPS and other for Stereo/DVD/TV/Radio) and work seamlessly when switching from one to the other (no jitter or lag).
Everyone of these units share the same user interface, one website might have a user interface that may look cleaner or updated, (and it is because it is the newer OS CE and user interface...).
The factory plugs did come in a plug N play, no other dongles or aftermarket connectors were necessary. Back of these units looked very impressive as far as all assortments of Line-outs, pre-amp, sub, channels, Video input/output, all of this for $350
)
The strongest point of their setup was the Navigation system; mine came with I-Go 8 installed and it was much better GPS/Nav system then the Garmin, Tom TOM, and Magellan ( I owned and also used lot of these in rentals from my business travels). The I-Go 8 in these systems are exponentially better then the current GPS/Nav in the Maxima ( I currently have the factory Nav in my Maxima and wish there was a hack to install the I-go 8 in my car...
) You'll know what I mean if you've ever used I-go8, and they are upgrade-able and there's full support by software misfits who customize and make changes to the Navigation much like the people who root and custom ROM their android phones.
Now onto the stereo portion: the sound is adjustable with left/right, front/back fade using the touch screen. Touch screen isn't as responsive or accurate as say I-phone or Galaxy phones, but they work just as well as the Nissan factory touch screen on my car. As for the sound, you can adjust the Treble, Bass, and Mid-range using the touch screen as well. The Treble at the highest setting is pretty sharp, and Bass is so, so at the highest setting ( Manufacturer said 50Wx4 ) but realistically I found it close to 5Wx4 in RMS wattage.
In quest for better music, I hooked up 4 Polk Audio 6"x9" (200 Watt per speaker) through the 1000 Watt Rockford Fosgate Amp. And the sound was amazing through these Chinese made Nav/stereo units. Sorting through the music list for MP3 in the USB stick and MicroSD connected to the Chinese unit was similar experience, as when navigating through the USB stick in my Maxima... it was all mixed up and pain in the A$$.
But in the end, I've used my Sony NWZ-X series MP3 Walkman through it and that made it sound totally out of this world. Currently I use the same Walkman on my Bose factory system in my Maxima and it also sounds totally out of this world.

It was in my 2009 Camry V6, I've sold it to my Dad because his car died...and with few extra $$$ bought the new Maxima SV with the premium package.
Next time I visit him I'll take the picture, and ask to have my amp back. I didn't want to add a bass box enclosure for more added weight to car, so I've opted to get the best heavy hitting bass 6x9 speaker sets with bright high notes (Polk Audio); all my friends thought that I had the bass box enclosure in the trunk... but to people who have 12" woofers in their trunks, you can't fool them...
This link below is the exact unit that I bought for my previous car, but from a different website about the same price several years ago.
Amazon.com: Koolertron For Toyota 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 Camry / 8" HD Touchscreen GPS Navigation System Car Radio with DVD Player BT iPod PIP RDS V-CDC (OEM Factory Pannel Design,Free Map): Car Electronics

Now you can get something cheaper and better for that same Camry car, as I was searching the web for stereo unit on my previous car.

I'm sure there's something similar for the 7th gen Maxima, if you searched hard enough. It just matter of, "Do you think these units are good enough and won't fall apart while I drive on my next trip"
And in my experience, for the money they are awesome.

2009 to current aftermarket GPS/Navigation/DVD/Radio
For the people that are still stuck with the amber screen display.
I have found a website that has the same GPS/Navigation/DVD/Radio unit for the 7th Gen Maxima. Had my Maxima not come with the factory GPS/Navigation unit, I would probably buy one of these units for the Maxima.
When I was deciding to buy my Maxima, I wanted a Navigation/stereo unit similar to my camry that I had installed. I looked everywhere in the internet prior to purchasing my maxima for Navigation upgrade-ability for the non SV premium and found none ( I guess I didn't search hard enough... because it does exist). That's why opted to buy the SV premium when buying my Maxima. But had I discovered there was actually an aftermarket unit exactly same as I had installed on my previous car, I would of just opted to install this aftermarket unit.
Here's the link for a similar system that I have previously posted for my previous car ( 2009 Camry). The radio system in the link below is for the Nissan Maxima 2009-2012 (probably up to 2014):

Here's a more in depth spec on the unit at this link ( I would suggest you not order through Aliexpress, as I had terrible service order through them):
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/prod...529035987.html
I'm not promoting these products, just letting you know that there are alternative after market products that are out there. For the price of $350 to $380, you will probably wonder why didn't even bother to try? You'll never look back.

Some people have posted about those but never has anyone really reported on pulling the trigger. I think you'd be the first, at least for that Camry setup. My brother mentioned the same unit though I talked him out of it (his stock system is actually pretty awesome).
You're right, $350-380 is a bit more palatable. When these first came out however, they were much more expensive. With my setup, all in all total, I think I've spent just about $400 (used Nexus 7 1st gen 32gb + Pioneer single din and supporting harnesses/dash bezel).
