Wheel Setup Question
Wheel Setup Question
I have a couple of questions in regards to wheel fitment and setup. I have seen posts throughout this section in regards to this, but I figure I would try to get one a little more centralized in regards to both of my questions...
My first question is, for the normal daily driven Maxima (side roads and highway), would you guys recommend a 19 or a 20 as far the size of the rim? Along with that would you just stick with the 8.5 width all around or at least try to go up to 9/9.5 around?
My next question is, would you say that the Eibach springs are more suiting for the daily driving beating as opposed to coilovers? I had Eibach springs on my old Accord and loved them. I actually returned some Skunk2 coilovers I had to use the springs instead. I have heard that if you get the full coilover setup that it is almost the same as springs. I just don't want to comprise a smooth ride just so I can get an extra drop on the stance of the car.
Also, I see a lot of love for the Hankook Ventus. What are you guys' take on other tires like Falken 452s, Toyo Proxes, Nexens, or Nankangs? Trying to keep an all-season tire on as well...
Thanks

Low profile tires, to a certain extent, handle better. So 20s would probably be the biggest you can go while maximizing handling. Plus, odd size tires and wheels are more expensive. Wheel width doesn't really matter much as long as they actually fit and are the right offset. Narrower would be better if you want to save weight. But wider would be better if you want that stretched tire look.
yea 19" tires are more expensive than 20" due to odd numbers being less common.
19" will ride smoother than 20" cause you can fit a thicker tire, but a lot of the ride quality will come down to how thick the tires you run are and what quality the tires are.
