Rear Lip rattle- from subs
Rear Lip rattle- from subs
Not sure if this should be in the garage spot since it is car realted.
I have a rear roof lip installed on my car. Since I have subs in my truck it rattles a bit. Apon viewing the 3m tape has loosen towards the middle-hence the rattle.
Can anyone sugest a product that can fix this? There is a 2-3" hard space to inject a sealent/cement of sorts.
With my very limited tech skills I was thinking this.
Clean area-Tape off a line under the lenth of the lip with protection of the entire rear window. get some glue of sorts- run a bead across- put a towel on top with some weighted material let some time and go.
If thats sounds about right- what glue/material should I do this with? Also anything to look out for? I do have a chaulk gun.
Awh and a side note I already took it back to the install place to fix it once- I know -- I am not very good at being a pain in the *** and rather fix it myself the right way because I care.
Thanks Greg

I'm not sure I'd mess with any kind of adhesives, no telling what they'd do when you try to take them off. Just get some more 3m body molding tape (the black with red) from autozone, take it off, clean the window with rubbing alcohol, and re-mount it. Just sounds like when it was originally installed maybe the window was dirty or something, that stuff normally needs to be yanked off pretty hard
i had the same problem with mine when i first installed it,i was told to get 3M Tape Adhesion Promoter Tape Primer ,its what body shops use to mount body parts and body kits on.
