De-badging the back 'MAXIMA' lettering

I want to take the 'MAXIMA' off the rear-left of my car, to make it more semetrical. My chrome license plate holder says 'Maxima' on it, & I want to get a front plate that says Maximia as well.

I see the tutorial on how to take it off. My only concern is that my Maxima is a 2009, so there will probably be a paint color difference when I remove it.

How can I fix or avoid this? Any suggestions.

It shouldn't be too bad. Three years isn't much. Just wash, polish and wax the rest of the car when you remove the badges.

heat it up with a blow dryer and use some fishing line to "saw" the letters off. then use some goo gone (NOT goof off) to clean up the sticky mess then polish it back up

i used a heat gun and a flathead screwdriver with a shop rag over the end on my '00 in '03 ... worked fine. just plan on busting out some elbow grease to get rid of the excess glue.
