megan exhaust is here!
megan exhaust is here!
so yeah, i got the Racingline Y-pipe on order but it is on backorder... my question is.. should i install the exhaust or wait till the y-pipe is here to install them all.. i saw somewhere with stillen that you needed to shift it back about 1 inch because the y-pipe is longer..
imma have a shop install my megan since i dont want to have what happened to a member on here that it didnt align right..
any constructive thoughts?

I installed my y pipe first and then stillen after, the stillen stuck out a little more. I had my exhaust shop cut about half inch off to push the exhaust back. I would wait till you get everything and install it once to save time and money.
Yea but i got megan not stillen, i heard thats what happens with stillen so im not sure if its the same with megan. The y-pipe can be easily installed, just the exhaust i would like a shop to do because of another owner having issues.. So i dunno lol

My 2 cents:
Just bring the Y-pipe to "the shop", have them also fab and install a custom axel back system (with your choice mufflers and tips) keeping the stock resonator (no interior drone) and retaining the stock pipe dia and bolt attach flanges aft of the resonator.
Should easily be less than $750 and you can essentially keep your stock system for reinstall if need be. Sound is now to your liking and any
measureable HP difference between this and a aftermarket catback is squat without other mods and a (real) tune.

Hmm yea, i would had loved to do this before i went and bought the exhaust so yea i already spent the money, i got the exhaust here but the y-pipe is backordered.. I just wanted to know if it was easier to just bolt it on once it arrives, i dont want to have the exhaust laying around waiting a few weeks for the y pipe to get here. That was my question, if there was no issues with megan exhaust like stillens that if u install stillens first then when it comes to the y-pipe u have to make adaptations and customize it..
i went with these ones because the borla ones have flanges on the exhaust pipes to the muffles.. not to fond of that.. and these ones over stillen because some members have pointed out that stillens are rusting bad..
Is this your first mod, how does it sound by itself?
Oh nah man, i dont even want to look at how much i spent already lol, all i got left to do is install stillen UDP, CJX thermal spacers and y-pipe when it arrives.. Aside from that, i have fone everything else left to do on this car.
I still need to paint my lip spoiler, roof wing and rockets from stillen..
