Maxima is an awesome car
I've had my '09 Maxima for 6 months now. Prior to that I researched buying a new car for 2-3 years, test drove about every non-luxury name brand. Went to several Drive GM, Drive Ford, Drive Hyundai events, where they had luxury and non-luxury cars to drive back-to-back to compare.
After all that homework / research and buying my Maxima, every day I smile when I drive my Maxima. It is such a pleasure to drive, the most enjoyable sedan I have ever had the pleasure to drive.
The Maxima is hugely under-rated. The funny thing is I never ever thought about buying a Maxima. I was going to buy a Sonata / Fusion / Optima / Altima at first. I wanted to rent a Kia Optima for a weekend, to see how it runs. But the rental place had no Optimas. They happened to have a Maxima for rent, so I chose to rent it for a weekend trip out of town.
The Maxima drove so well, and was so easy to drive for my weekend trip, I fell in love with it. I immediately started to price out used and new Maximas, and came across a spectacular used Maxima with all the options I wanted. 6 months later, and having owned and driven it for 6 months, I am still in love with it.
Incidently I did buy the Optima, for the wife, and it is really nice, but I'm so glad I bought the Maxima for myself.
This Maxima is probably one of the best sedans in the near luxury class. The only other thing that comes close is the Acura TL, and it is an actual luxury nameplate.
This Maxima rocks!!

"Maxima is a great car" - totally agree with 09MaximaSV
Hello guys,
I'm 20 years old and I just got my maxima not even a month ago and I'm so happy with the decision I took. My girlfriend tells me everyday you were wise going with the maxima lieu of the Infiniti G37 and I know she is 100 % correct, because we got luxury, power and comfort and ( more girls ) that she doesn't know lol,O_o for $ 6000.00 less and I still smoke my friend with his 04' 350z.
LOVE MY MAXIMA

great choice in a car, you nailed it man its hard to find a near-luxury sport sedan thats as fun to drive as the Max. I went onto the lot looking at other cars, test drove a new fully loaded Max and fell in love with it too. awesome car.

Love my maxima
Did you test both? I impulsively bought the Maxima without even looking at the G37, and then regretted it after the fact. By that I mean I regret not even looking at it. 30 extra horsepower, and lease rates are probably quite similar, although I hope someone tells me it would cost +xxx to make me feel better.

I'm going to tell you my story from the beginning. I always wanted the infiniti. However my brother in law told me that i had it to test all the cars I liked so i woulndt regret it once buying ( based on what happened before with a 2010 honda accord that I had for 1 year and hated) then I went and test the Acura, BMW, VW r-32,Ford mustang, Genesis, scion tc and etc. Despite, the day I got my car I test the 2012 Infiniti g37s coupe and I loved but that love only last for two hours because I tested the 2012 maxima the same afternoon and then I really fall in love and on top of that my payment was 100 bucks cheaper with the maxima and the insurance not even gonna tell you can imagine. So I took one of the best decisions I have done in my short life lol I'm 20
I too test drove the M37, and G37 sedans, and was not impressed. I don't like the styling of the Infiniti sedans, nor did I really like interiors or even the driving experience that much more than the Maxima.
If the situation was reversed, and the G37 was the Nissan, and the Maxima was the Infiniti, I would totally get the Maxima.
IMHO the Maxima blows the G37 sedan away, as a total package. Yes I get the RWD and all that, but even the rental BMW 328i I had for a few days with RWD didn't impress me over my Maxima.
Really? I couldn't even tell! Your English is excellent, seriously.

I've had my 7th gen about three months now and I'm so in love with it. Puts a smile on my face everytime I get in it. Really like the sound of the 3.5 when you get on it. The Maxima really is one of the best cars on the road IMO. I've always loved the styling of each gen. When the 7th gen came out, I had to have it. I think this is the best bodystyle so far.
My first car was a 97 Maxima SE back in high school, was given to me my sophomore year by my parents(original owners). All my friends always wanted to go riding in it lol. Five years later I still have it and it's at 195k and still rolling strong. For me to have two maximas, that should tell you how crazy I am about Nissans lol.

I've enjoyed mine coming from a Toyota family.....These 7th gen Maxima's are just amazing...And for me I always lease my cars..so for the last 4 years Nissan Maximas are #1 for Re-sale residual value!!
I just love the neck snapping factor my car has whenever I roll, plus this car only spins about 2K at damn near 70mph and it is relatively quite for the most part.
Plus mine is dropped with the Eibach Pro Kit, with a roof wing, aftermarket rims and 20% tints all around-----dope ain't too much of a word to use.
See it in the in my link in my Sig.

I couldn't agree with you more. My wife and I looked at so many cars. And the max just isn't blah, to say it so eloquently
