Just bought a brand new maxima had 5 miles on it when I bought it....noticed today when I first take off after starting the car I hear a sound come from the transmission not a grind but a sound that sounds weird....anyone know what that could be?

 

It's normal. Something to do with the abs. Like a self check or something.

 

It sounds like something is wrong but it only does it when I first take off....like pulling out of the neighborhood

 

yes, apparently the first time you go 15 or so after engine start it's the ABS self-test or whatever...never happens until the first time after you start the car again...

It could be the CVT every time you take off slowly the rpms jump a little and then fall it sort feels like its bogging and wants to stall out..... But i think thats how all the cvts work you especially feel this in the 2.5 altimas...Its more of a feel and not sound... but its probably that abs test the above posts are talking about

 

I also notice some clicking or something every time I am going really slow and then ease on the gas. I think that's normal.
