Maxima or ? Help me make a good choice

I am going to be moving from a company car to a car allowance in a couple of months, and I am trying to decide what car to purchase. All of you have lots of experience with many of the cars I am considering... So I am going to ask for some advice.

Info:
25-30,000 miles a year
$20-25,000 ish budget
The company pays for my gas... So mileage is not that important
I live in NE, so I will encounter some bad weather.
I am looking at used cars with 40,000 or so miles

Any FHE with these cars at 140,000 plus miles would be very helpful.

Candidates:
'09 Maxima. I have wanted one since a friend has a 95 SE
Pros:
Age
Looks
Sporty
Power
Interior
Cons:
Cvt
Front wheel drive only
Resale not as strong

'05-'07 Acura RL
Pros:
AWD
Power
Handling
Resale
Cons:
Older
Looks
Center stack

'05-'07 Infiniti M35x
Pros:
Looks
AWD
Interior
Power
Cons:
Older
Resale

'06 Lexus GS300 AWD
Pros:
AWD
Looks
Interior finish
Resale
Cons:
Upper end of $$
Older

'05-'09 Toyota Avalon
MPG
Reliability
Lower end of $$
Power
Cons:
BLAH
Center Stack
Seats suck
Handling
Might as well be a Buick

Any information would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

If I had to choose, either the Maxima or M35x. The RL and Avalon are meh but the GS comes in third after the first two.

Dud you in Omaha too? CVT is not bad, I was against it untill I bought mine. I was originaly looking for a G37 but stumbled on a Maxima that I couldnt pass up. Drive one and see for your self. FWD isnt the best but it is pretty sporty.

you pretty much hit the nail on the head with those 2:

05-'07 Infiniti M35x
Pros:
Looks
AWD
Interior
Power
Cons:
Older
Resale

'06 Lexus GS300 AWD
Pros:
AWD
Looks
Interior finish
Resale
Cons:
Upper end of $$
Older

if you are going to encounter snow/ice and severe winter weather conditions plus your company pays for gas, I wouldn't look any further, may be an audi A6 quattro but again I would go with the Infiniti or Lexus

Why not look for a 2008+ g35x sedan, you can even find a g37x sedan for under $25k.

I have no idea how AWD compares to FWD in the snow but, out of your choices, the Max looks the best, looks the newest, and the aggressive styling won't be as stale as the Avalon or the RL over the next few years. My second choice would be the GS. Roomy interior, and very good reliability.

Better yet, dont get the Maxima, I want to be the Only OMAHAIAN on the board lol.

The AWD on the M, is the same AWD on the Gs/FXs. It is a RWD car untill it detects SLIP. There is a snow mode that engages AWD all the time but only intill you hit 15mph, then it goes back to detecting SLIP.

If you are considering the M35x at Todd Archer, stay away now! I checked it out defentily woulndt buy it. Also I can run Carfaxes for you, and if you want a WRX, STI, or Camaro, HMU. Just saying, I sell those
