2012 Maxima (creaking noise center console)
I have a 2012 Maxima with 3500 miles on it. I have noticed a creaking noise inside the car. It is around the console area (gear shifter area). It started about a week ago and at certain times it goes away for a day or so then comes back. I stopped by the dealer last Friday and the service manager rode with me. I was able to let him hear the noise also, at that point I decided to have them look at the car when I take it in for the first oil change.
Anyone else experience this weird creaking noise (sound kind of like rocky chair effect or rubbing parts?
Thanks

I'm in the same boat with my 2011. And, I read all the other posts about rattles, and things being in your cupholders and what not ...
I've been a stickler about rattles in ALL my cars in the past, but this one is driving me NUTS! I've pushed down on just about every possible part that it could be, but nothing has made it go away!
The silver plastic cover by the shifter is VERY squeaky even just touching it. I've pressed on both sides of the navi screen, plus the whole panel where the radio is, but I'm not sure it's even coming from there. The sound comes from that general area, but it only happens after going over bumps, and not all the time - almost sounds like a tiny screw is somewhere inside rattling around, but it's making me CRAZY!
Is ANYONE else having this problem? I'm tired of just making the radio louder, as I usually listen to sports talk radio, so there's no music to drown it out!
Thanks!

Have the Creaking noise in my rear car..non stop, everytime I hit a bump, pothole, speed bump, anything...Really annoying. Now the inside is making this noise too..not a creaking but a banging.

. They just scratched up the plastic base
to right of the seat, which I'm having them replace.
I have a 2012 sport tech, and no rattle noises whatsoever, unless I have sunglass in the overhead compartment, or something loose in the glove box... other then that I really have a quiet ride.
maybe you guys lean on the center console alot putting pressure and weight to it along with road bumps, potholes, etc... eventually loosening/weakening the console? dunno...

The way I usually find noises is by having my wife or daughter or son or granddaughter drive on a reasonably rough or bumpy road while I contort myself all around the cabin, front and rear, turning my head every which direction to help narrow the area the noise is coming from, then pressing, squeezing, pushing, pulling, twisting everything in that area until I find some action that stops the noise.
Like many here, I cannot stand to have a rattle, especially on a long trip. Trying to pin down a noise while driving is often useless, as well as sometimes being dangerous.
The first thing I always check is to make sure I have no styrofoam cups of beverage in the cupholders, as they make a very annoying creaking. Then I would check the sunglasses compartment if I had one (my premium has the double roof, so no sunglasses compartment). Then I check the contents of the console compartments, the glove box, the trunk, etc. The worst rattles by far are those from inside the dash, which can be very difficult to remedy.

The interior of my max squeaks like crazy when it's cold. It's both the center console and something in the ceiling.
The rear used to creak pretty bad when going over speed bumps. I took it in and the dealership said it was the bushings and fixed it under warranty.
