Michelin Pilot Super Sports... just delivered!
After a lot of research and Q/A from many people in my local car community, I purchased a set of Michelin PSS tires from Tire Rack last Friday and just took delivery this afternoon.
I could not decide between the Continental Extreme Contact DW, Hankook Ventus V12 Evo or the Michelin PSS to save my life. All these options had their pros and cons. Ultimately, it came down to several friends who purchased these for their sports cars (2011 5.0, 370Z's, etc) and had nothing but rave reviews. While they are on the pricey side of summer tires, not one person had anything bad to say about them. Not to mention a 30K treadlife warranty on a summer tire is unheard of for one with this kind of performance.
So, all that being said, these will be installed this weekend and a full review will come over the next few weeks.

Stay tuned!

Best tire out there, but expensive.
I had a set of Pilot Sport All-seasons on my last car...quiet as a mouse through 50k miles before I replaced them. As the tires were sitting on the shop floor waiting to be tossed in the dumpster, some guy wandered up to me and offered me $50 for the set.

I considered the Pilot Sport A/S+ tires, but since I already have a set of RS-A's with only 6K on them, I figured just go nuts and put on some ridiculous summer tires

I absolutely murdered the RS-A's when I was on the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway last year at Zdayz. Over 80 degrees, those things got greasy as hell when tearing up the corners. I promised myself to come back this year with a much better summer-only tire.

UPDATE 22-Apr-2012
Got these installed by a local tuning shop Saturday morning. Barely took any weight at all to balance them.
So far after about 100 miles, this is what I can report:
Highway: these tires ride better by a LARGE margin over the RS-A's. Zero vibration and very comfortable.
Off-ramps and corners: Lateral grip is ridiculous. You can just push these things harder and harder and they just bite and take the line.
Wet Traction: Just like the dry traction, amazing. Been getting a ton of rain today here in VA, and these tires actually make it a joy to drive in the wet.
The steering feel is a bit twitchy off-center, but seems to be getting better as they break in. Apparently this is due to the release mold gel they use during the manufacturing process.

Thanks for the review so far GM. I will consider these once my tires go bad in the future. My father has been using these brand tires for years and so far they never let him down. I on the other hand experiment on different types of tire brands. The Falken tires I have sucks. They vibrate around 85 plus mph. My stock goodyear tires felt better LOL. Speaking of vibrations, whats with the thread about that freeones crap. People have no lives

I've been of the mindset that two things you should never cheap out on are tires and brakes. Two items that will either save your life or kill you in a split second. Some might think I went overboard with this set of rubber... and some might be right
Truth is, I wanted the best of the best to really see what this chassis can do with a proper tire. You really can't go wrong with the Hankook V12 Evo's (which Ghozt has) or the Conti DW summer tires. For the money, they are great bang for the buck. I just chose the PSS since they have a stiffer sidewall, sharper steering response and not to mention longevity.
Oh and lmfao at the vibrations comment
I'm sure that sh*t will get locked in no time.
The pilot super sports are awesome. I use them on my mustang for track days in the wet and they are wickedly reliable, and then leave them on when it starts to dry out and they transition better than any tire I have owned previously.
Not as stickyasmy Hoosiers....but they aren't shot after 5-6 track days either

Seems that anyone who has these tires has nothing but positive things to say about them. That's what I like to hear!
