Front end clunk sound

I own a 2009 Maxima SV w/ Tech pkg. I have had it 3 months with 27,000miles on the odo. I love this car. Totally different feel than any other car I have ever owned. It drives just like it looks. Wide and fast. It took time to get used to the slight hum from the CVT. But have grown to like it. Anyway with that aside, I did have an irritating clunk which seemed to come from the front end of the car. Took it to the dealer and they said it was coming from the front axle and the had to disassemble and lube it with moly grease. Has anyone ran into this problem? It seemed to fix the prob. but, do you think that any damage might of happened?

This sounds like it may be the TSB that was put out by Nissan for the front strut tower I believe that was it

That's what I thought as well, but they said mine wasn't on the recall list. It sure sounded like the strut. Do you have vibration issues over 60 mph? They balanced my tires twice but it just might be my tires. The previous owner needed an alignment and wore the outer edges down. Looks like I might have to fork out a grand for new ones.
