Oil change schedule

Just curious what other dealers recommend for the oil change schedule. Mine gave me a schedule printed on a piece of paper that has another change every 3 months/3250 miles.

First one is free, second is around $75, third is free, and then ranging from $75 to $250 as you get into the 30k miles range.

I have about 1600 miles in 3 months of ownership, and I don't think it is time yet, but I could be wrong.

What schedule do you follow?

My last car ran on synthetic (9 quarts) and the monitor calculated about 15,000 mile intervals, based on driving habits. The sensor in the Max seems to be a simple mile counter with no regard for driving style.

Why would the prices for an oil change vary? All they do is drain and fill using the same oil filter and same oil brand they used on the last change.

But anyway I have mine change at every 3K +/- a couple hundred miles even though my dealer coupons tell me to come in every 5K. Wouldn't let it goes past 3500 though.

I have 5 more oil changes left and after that I'll start changing the oil myself.

My dealership in Framingham, Ma says every 3750 with every other oil change = FREE

They gave me a maintenance booklet to keep records of every service done.

For city driving 3 months/3k miles is fine. Highway driving you can go a little longer. All the info is in the manual. $100 is more than I'm willing to pay for an oil change, so I have a mechanic do it for $50.

I believe dealerships recommend 3,750, as per owner's manual. If you are paying anything above $50, it should be full synthetic.

I use full synthetic and I go 10,000miles between oil changes. That is my own personal schedule.

What car did you have before that you were doing the 15,000miles oil change interval with the oil life monitor? I think most cars with the oil life monitor can take you to more than 10,000miles before the OLM can say 5% or less remaining.

It was a Mercedes E-class, but it took 9 quarts of syn, so I'm assuming the Nissans are a more traditional 4 quart capacity.
