Nav update

Does anyone know if I can update my Nav maps from the 09 maps to the 2012 maps? Is there a disc I can purchase??

Thanks!

The '09 Maxima NAV update is different than the '10 thru '12 Maxima NAV update, in that no disc is involved. The info for the '09 NAV is updated by NAVTEQ right along with the discs used for later Maximas, and should be the same updated info.

Until fairly recently, updates for the NAV on Maximas were sold by NAVTEQ, but now the Maxima NAV update sales are handled by NISSAN:

http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INT...gationMenu=YES

The regular price is $149, but if you buy before June 30, the special sale price is $99. They will send you a code, which you take to your dealer, and he will use that code to obtain and install the latest update for your NAV.

Most dealers add an installation charge for installing the update, but mine did it for free. I have long felt the price for these updates is too high, but I still do one around two to three years after getting each of my Maximas.

Get a Garmin or TomTom with lifetime updates - seriously.

^ i agree that garmin or tom tom would function better, but i will probably only have my car for a year or 2 and the factory looks much cleaner..

Cannot replace your setup with the nav unit. Has been discussed in many threads...the wiring is different with that unit as opposed to the others.
