Performance Upgrades

Buying my first Max today!! 2009 SV.... I have always been a domestic guy, had a 2000 trans am ws6 but got rid of that about 4 years ago... Drove the 09 max. and feel in love. I was wondering if anyone had a few suggestions on what i could do , performance wise, right out the gate to gain some horse power. Thanks alot!!!

You can do the usual, intake and exhaust. But if it's tuning you are involved in, I'd stay away from the max. No tuning available.

Underdrive pulley (from Stillen) and the ECM reflash will be through UpRev.

why do people KEEP saying there is no tuning available for the Max? whoever still thinks that seriously needs to shoot an email to Uprev and figure it out. they have no Osiris Standard tunes, no, but you can tune it manually on a dyno with the Osiris Tuner edition.

to be honest you wont feel much gains from most of the bolt-ons, mostly noise changes. the two mods I could feel the most with my butt dyno (properly tuned lol) were my custom CAI and Intake Manifold spacers. Third would be UDP as others have mentioned. the rest gives very small gains compared to what you pay unless you're planning on opening the entire system up (headers/hfcs, y pipe, cat-back, intake, then tune)

thats even better. closed intake won't make you loose any low end an open filter would.

if you don't wanna spend alot of $ just get some metal tubing and a K&N cone filter and make it yourself.

the only difference between that and the one i posted was that the stillen is a closed system which gives the added benefit of less or no low end loss thats associated with short ram, open filter intakes.

its a tube with holes for vacuum hoses and a filter to put on the end of it, its all the same to me.

^ the Stillen short ram is not a closed system and has the same exact heat soak as every other short ram. I did a lot of testing with the R2C which has a much bigger/better shroud than the Stillen and that too had a ton of heat soak. check out the thread if you want to see some actual testing/data as opposed to speculation.

the intake spacers you can pick up from cxjperformance.com, I highly recommend them
