Headlight and Tail Light Question on a 2009

Currently I have a 2009 Maxima and I was wondering if anyone has swapped out the headlights for the new smoked headlights that come on the 2011 and 2012. I also wanted to know if anyone has changed out the tail lights to the new smoked ones that come on the 2012. Personally I like the new smoked look and I was wondering if anyone has done the swap and if there were any problems.

Thanks for the input.

I didn't do any swap but I took off both my headlights for Kmoney to customize and my tail lights to smoke. The headlights were easy to remove. Pretty straight forward. There is a DIY on here. For the tail lights, just hit it with a rubber mallet. Don't use any flat screw drivers. You'll end up breaking it. There is also a DIY on this too. Just to a little bit of research on here and you'll find what you need.

2009 Maxima - Left HID headlight is out

Speaking of headlights. My left Xenon HID light went out. Dealer said it was a bulb so I ordered two replacement Philips bulbs. Performed the install myself to save $225, uplugged power, removed plastic parts and pop-clips to get behind the headlight to replace bulb.

Replaced the bulb. With power connected, I turned on headlights...left side still DEAD, right side good. Knowing that the right side bulb is good. I borrowed the right side HID bulb and plugged it into the left side headlight and no go, still DEAD.

I installed the replacement bulb that was on the left headlight onto the right headlight and it came up nice and bright, GOOD

I know all my bulbs are good. Where else should I check? Fuses? Does the 09 Max have separate fuses for left and right headlights? Thanks!

Sounds like a fuse or ballast. Check the fuses under the hood to see if they are still good, if so then you have a bad ballast.
