Clay - DO IT
This weekend I've used clay on my car for the first time ever...
I cannot believe I have never used this before! My Winter Frost Pearl has never ever looked so good!
There has always been tiny tiny spots of red, brown, green, and yellow I could never buff out while waxing and the clay took it right out... and wow the surface is unbelievably slick and smooth! I don't think I've ever touched paint that felt like this...
I specifically bought the Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay kit. It was $18 on amazon and includes a very nice microfiber towel, quick detailer (for lubricating the clay), and 2 bars of clay with a container to keep them in.
There is an excellent write up on how to use clay in the detailing section of the forums but I'll give just a quickie from my experience.
1.) Wash & Dray
2.) Clay
3.) Wax

I am just so blown away by how well this works I had to share it with hopes of talking people into trying this.
Also, if you go to Meguiars site they have videos about clay and everything in these videos is truth(based off my experience this weekend.)

i agree, i wish i knew about claybarring earlier. its so easy to do and really makes the car look great and helps any wax or polish bond to the paint for a much longer time.
i clay twice a year with my full detail. inbetween ill spray with the hose, use Zaino Z6 spray or just wipe down with a california duster. this car only gets "washed" twice a year, the rest of the year its just being "wiped down". if you dont claybar your car, you need to start
