Red face Halo Projection Fogs

Ordered a pair of projection fogs from carid for a nissan altima 2009. Took it appart and retrofited the halo ring with one from the retrofitsource. Changed the projector out with the blazers that the retrofitsource used to carry. The led halo itself is bright!! I mean bright!!! Check them out yourself. It started pouring before i could get a picture of both of them. I connected them to the radiator fan fuse so the halos are always on even during the day.

Looks awesome.. Have been thinking about doing this myself.. Do the oem fogs have to be baked to be opened?

That looks really clean! I assume these are for the 4dr sedan Altima? Would you have a part number for these by chance?

Because They have aftermarket projector fogs for the altima. The way our oem fog was made, u cant do any mod on them. How i know is because i tried it with my oem fogs n no luck. So when u worked on my friend altima, i saw our fogs bracket was similar
The altima n maxima fogs bracket are identical n that's y the altima fogs fits

The OEMs were a pain to even open. I failed at opening them and working on them. The altima fogs are very cheap and also come with a 2 led ring. I just took the 2 leds out and replaced it with these.

This is the link for the halo led ring. 70mm white is the one I installed and they look bright and have a slight blue tint.

Here is the link for the altima projection fogs. All you really have to do to get these to fit is take out 2 screws and change brackets with the original OEMs in our maxima.

http://www.carid.com/2009-nissan-alt...ro-316001.html

I took the extra step. These carid fogs already come with a halo ring but they were not bright enough for me so I took it up a notch and upgraded to the brightest leds that I found on the market. The carid projector fogs do come with fogs but I had already purchased the blazers from the retrofit source but they are now discountinued so the ones that come with the carid ones should work just fine. Here is a link to what the blazers look like. There is absolutely no backing necessary at all in this project. It is very simple and straight forward.

Unfortunaltey I already installed them without any pictures, I could definetly type up a diy however. Hope this helps.

The pictures look like they replaced the stock light houseing with projection fogs. But I'm a little curious to know if they are actual projection fogs. The description does not say alot.

as for the halo, it will not be as bright as mine in the picture due to the fact that the halo that comes stock has only 2 leds lighting the entire acrylic ring. The halo in the picture is a halo ring with more than 88 leds. As far as the projector, it is a projector, there isnt much you can do to change the projector. It is actually a projector and it distributes the light evenly but the bulb is a small H1 bulb. I put the blazer fogs in as a replacement, but they are no longer in production. I suggest using the projectors because they are quite clean on the inside without corrosion. My advice is to make sure that before installing these to seal the back of the fogs because condensation will happen over night even without rain.

That's really awesome. So glad I held out on getting my fogs and got the morimoto lo-beams instead. My question is for a maxima S with no oem fogs. I know if I buy the oem fog light kit, its pretty much plug and play, and comes with the replacement turn signal switch for the fogs. Does anyone know if I can combine these fogs, and that switch for pug and play oem switch, but with these projection fogs??

The only problem you will have is you will have to somehow get that switch, the entire turn signal switch, once you do that, you will have to integrate these with that switch, all you will need is an adapter and you should be set.

K, I know I can purchase the oem switch by itself, my question is more of whether the halo fogs will fit the oem wiring available for the fogs. Of so, them I shouldn't have to run wires right?? Just install, connect stock wiring to the fogs, install the switch, and I should be good to go??

Sorry for the very newbie questions, but I really like the look of the halo lights, and I have no experience with them.

My first question is that I notice when people do the halo lights (in fogs, or the headlight housings like Ghozt has), they seem to be powered on separate from the actual headlights/projectors. Is there a separate switch that needs to be installed for them? Or are they just wired in a way that keeps the halo part powered on all the time, regardless of if the headlights are turned on?

Also, to the OP, you mentioned a possible DIY write-up. Would you mind doing that when you get time? I am sure there are several people who would benefit from it.

And finally, an unrelated question for Ghozt...

I love the clean look of your Max and from what I have read on these boards, you put thought into your mods. That said, I trust your opinions and would like to know if you have swapped out any other bulbs with LEDs (license plate, etc.) If so, who do you recommend getting the bulbs from? Seems very random here in regards to where people get them (V-Leds, Superbright, eBay) with lots of complaints of flickering and burned out bulbs. I am just looking for a "Lexus" white type of look.

Thanks for any replies.
