functional hood scoops?

functional hood scoops?

Based on a convo i'm having right now.. Does anyone know the exact process for hood scoops for our max??

The answer to that question depends on what functionallity if any the hood scoop(s) would provide your car.

Do you want cold air provided to a custom intake system?
(the max has a stock cold air intake)

..or would you want the scoop to allow the excessive under hood heat a way out?

..or you can just slap a couple of non-functional scoops on to look good.

i think this is a good idea if it could ram air from the outside to the intake (aftermarket) considering its a shorter run then a true cold air it would be much more effective ...but if i was you i would SCRAP this idea and make a custom 4inch with 4->3 inch coupler it gives you 10whp on top of what a TRUE cold air gives you. so thats almost 20whp MORE

Yep, short and seal it to the underside hood and no leak/rain...BAM. The other part of the problem is the chronic under hood heat....?
