Hardwire tap into mirror

I searched around and could not find the info I was looking for, I'm about to use a mirror mount to mount my passport 8500 and will be using a mirror tap to power it. Which holes in the mirror are the positive and ground?

I was about to install one myself, but then changed my mind as I am going to run a wire along the headliner and down the side of the door post instead so I can also install an accessory to my RD underneath the dash.

You do need a voltmeter to test this properly, and even though this may not be the brand you bought, these guys have some decent instructions up on how to do it.

Just in case anyone else wanted to do something similar I did the install last night took about 5 min and the switched 12 volt was the black wire with the red stripe towards the left side, ground was the solid black one next to it. I'll get some pictures tomorrow after work, whole thing looks read clean now, no more cord hanging across the car and real easy install and only a 9 inch cord opposed to running one all the way to fuse box

I think the mirror has changed but my 2012 looks slightly different. For all the 2012s out there trying to do this I've got a few pictures.

Highly recommended only cost about 50 bucks took 10 min to install and no wires, best part is now a sun shade fits without having to take the detector down, and detector is protected from sun which is important down here in Orlando
