Kuda iPod / iPhone Mount in 2012 Maxima

Hello all. Just thought I would post a few pics of my Kuda iPod mount in my 2012 Max for those looking for a different mounting option for a phone, gps, iPod, etc.. They are a bit pricey ($60-$70), but in my opinion the cleanest, most OEM look for a mount. It is made of black leather and blends in well with the black interior. It provides a nice, sturdy mount with easy access to your device. You still have to find a holder of your choice to go with the mount, but I just use a Bracketron STM-100 adhesive holder, which is only about $5 shipped for a pair of them. Oh, and it took me all of two minutes to install it. Let me know if you have any questions.

Sorry, I didn't take a pic of the back of the iPod, but the bracketron holder is a two part plastic "slide" type holder with 3m adhesive backing on each of the parts...very simple and inexpensive . One part is stuck to the kuda mount as shown in my pics, with the other part stuck to the back of my iPod case. The iPod just slides into the piece on the mount for a low profile type of look.

As for availability of the kuda mount, I also couldn't find it on their website, so I emailed them and a guy named Dirk replied with a phone number I could call. I had ordered a couple of their mounts for previous vehicles in the past, so I really wanted one for my Max. When I called him, he said that the Maxima is not available in Germany where the mounts are manufactured ???, but that he knew that they had the mold for them. He had me place the order online for the 6th gen and leave notes that I needed it for my 2012. I was nervous that I would receive the 6th gen model, but I was happy to see it was not. Fits perfect, and I received it within about ten days of my order.

If I get time, I will take a pic of the back of my iPod and post it later.

Hope this helps.

There is just a tab that slides between the radio and the trim, and a small screw hidden behind the glove box door. It is nice a snug and won't move unless I ever decide to take it out.

MAN I didn't know this type of mount existed. Great find indeed. I am almost tempted to fab something similar myself like this, now that I see yours. Depending on the lead-time however, I may just order one and save my time. How long did it take for yours to arrive????

Hi. I called in and talked with Dirk on a Friday and he had me place the order online while I was on the phone with him so he could confirm the 7th gen model. He said it would ship out late the next week, and arrive to me the following Monday. Sure enough, USPS priority mail package arrived on Monday like he promised. So I guess a total of 10 days from order to delivery.

If I remember correctly, I started with the number from their website (1-866-487-5832) and Dirk just answered. For all I know he is the only employee for them here in the US, because all of my communication (email and phone) was with him. I think their US office is in Texas, and I am unsure of their hours. You may even try emailing them through their website.

If you decide to order, just be sure that you confirm with him that it is for a 7th generation. Because of this, he told me that my order was coming directly from Germany without installation instructions, but trust me, it would be near impossible to mess up the installation. You are welcome to remind him of my order (name is Neil, from Ohio) from just a few weeks ago. I would think he would remember it.

Good luck!
