I'm contemplating purchasing an 09 Maxima as I was at one point thinking of getting an 08 Cadillac STS but just cant handle the stereotype associated with the car. I went and test drive an 09 SV today that was priced right around $20K but then he threw a 2011 S at me for the same price. I think the main thing that appealed to me in the Cadi was it was a V8 with a little more horsepower but its also much heavier than the Maxima.

 

Why the fixation on HP. The Maxima has more than you need for everyday driving, is smaller, more reliable and better resale value. Also why are you concerned with image, you should go with the car that makes you happiest. Drive both on the same day and make a decision. In this forum everyone will tell you to go with the Maxima.

 

The HP issue was just on my pro/con list. Resale is always a big issue with me but I also checked the insurance and see there is a savings on the maxima side. I think maybe a Cadillac is in my future down the road but not right now.
