New wheels on the Maxima

I got new 20x9s for the Maxima because I curbed my 18s and exposed the cords on the tires.

They're Verdes on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 255/35-20.

Looks good. Wheel gap is more noticeable with low-profile tires and plus it's a light colored car. But the wheel gap is actually slightly less with 255/35/20s compared to the stock tires.

Thanks guys! I am really liking the wheels. I'm very happy that they're flush, have a concave look, and will be easy to maintain. The tires are pretty grippy and they should be good for the winters here (not the best yes but better than the crappy Assurances on the car before)

255's are going to suck in the snow.

are the 20's much heavier than the stock 18's? is it noticeable when driving?

If it sucks in the snow, oh well, surely it'll still be better than the previous set.

The wheels do not feel heavy when driving although I haven't personally lifted it yet.

Why would 255's suck in the snow?

Depends on the driver... Most likely you on a summer rated tire... So you have to adjust your driving style... As with any weather condition, rain, sleet, snow, ice, dry....

Actually it's all season tires. It is not a summer tire because I made sure not to get one.

All the driver then... If this is the first time you driving in snow with a lower profile tire, be weary... Lower profile tires are designed to be more responsive... Also I made the assumption that when he was referencing 255 width I hope he was truly talking about the smaller sidewall, usually a 45 series or smaller... That's what I am talking about... To me wider is better...anyway...
