New set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus.

It seems to be very hard to find the tires I realy wanted which was continental extreme contact DWS 18". as well as others. I still am wondering if I should have gotten the primacy mxv4. I would love to here some opinions. Thanks.

Per Consumer Reports report on All Season tires it recommends the Continental PureContact[V] (with a rating of 70) it is a top rated V speed rated all season tire. A well rounded choice for most driving conditions.

HighsImpressive wet stopping grip highlights a tire with strong all weather performance. Low rolling resistance for good fuel economy.

LowsA well rounded all season tire with few shortcomings

Second best is the Michelin Primacy MXV4 (with a rating of 66) which is also a solid choice for most weather conditions, and for those who place high value on long tread life.

Its funny how different that list is from the customer reviews on tirerack.

Considering that consumer Reports is a non profit organization which does not take money or ads from businesses and is essentially unbiased and uses a comperhensive methodology to test the tires, special equipment and trained engineers I would depend more on their rating system than Tirerack. Tirerack is good a reference material.

I wish they would factor in the price as well. Michelin Pilot A/S were great tires for me on another car, but cost an arm and a leg. They'll make up the cost over lifespan, but shelling out over a thousand dollars for a set up front is painful.

I could not find the continentals as well, so I went with the Michelin Pilots. They do great and I do not regret my choice.

I am sure the Pilot Sport A/S is a terrific tire. I just decided that I don't need a Z-rated or W-rated tire for my daily driver. My V-rated MXV4's are more than adequate for my typical needs.

That is a great point. It is nice to have tires rated to run at 130mph+, but when was the last time most of us needed that capability?

Pilots a/s or Primacy Mxv4

I recently put some 245/45/18 Michelin Pilots a/s on my 2007 Maxima. My other choice was the Primacy Mxv4 and there was "no" other choices. The 2 main reasons why chose the Pilots are.. 1, I really like how the treadwear look on the Pilots compared to the Primacy and the ratings on both are almost the same on wet,dry and comfort but, the Pilots gives you better handling. The Primacy has a 60k mile manufacturer warranty compared to the 45k on the pilots. My friend has a 530 and an E350 and have driving over 75k miles on his Pilots. So I'm really not worry on the 15k mileage difference. I'll let you all know after I've driven 5-10k on them.
